What exectly do you want help with? The only real problem I see here is that it's obviously a modified version of the RON intro.. So unless you're doing a RON-game, it might kill the atmosphere when this background show up.

I in actual fact am making a RON game and yes it is a ripped off modified version of the intro screen.

Hehe, jk.  I have no idea what RON is, but it looks good.

this is the critics lounce, go away if you have nothing to contribute

as for the background, it's a gif but it looks like it was saved as a jpg at some point and then resaved as a gif, there are a lot of artifacts on the image.

also there are a lot of green specks inside the broken off piece

The white is already on the sign when its full, but... I think people might not realise this. When you look at the picture it draws your eye. Without this knowledge about the white already there, people might think your a lazy artist.
fransaskois: check out http://ron.the-underdogs.org/ for ron information. Its a great series so check it out.

Lithium......... What in the world does that image have to do with Farsight's picture? Does it help him figure out what to fix on his drawing? Does it offer any criticsm of ANY kind? No... It offers absolutely nothing... You didn't even mention Farsight's picture in your post... What are you doing?

To me it looks like when writing the text, you ran out of space and had to squish end of "carefully" in.  Maybe that could be tweaked.  Then again, as is could fit with some of the styles of RON games that have been made.

I don't know if it's supposed to be there, but...

Right when the sign's shadow starts, there's a thin layer of a brighter green surrounding that part of the sign. You should get rid of that.

Hm. I think that this picture is just simply lame. Not because you ripped it, but because It's far too boring.

I'd suggest a humorous element, such as put crosses from uncareful drivers around, or add a cat onto road who got drived over or just a tree which looks like It's been crashed into. Or all of them.
At the moment, there's very little of what you did, so you could rip the basic picture again to fix the overall quality and redo it, because it looks like someone got mad with using extrude filter. Or - you could remove these bright double lines from things manually (which isn't that hard at all).
It will be alot better at the moment when there's no trace of antialiasing anymore.

InCreator hit the nail on the head. How did the sign get broken? maybe add a crashed car behind it withe debri from the sign.

Ok, I shall tell you how it got destroyed
As you walk past, the sign get hit by a missile from Iraq

Before missile

After missile (updated)

I updated the things that you thought could use redoing. All I have to do now is update the first picture.

The tomb stone kind looks like a cardboard cut out. The shards of the sign i dont think work to well, perhaps you could make the sign look like it got hit by  missile by putting a blast pattern on it.

or you could make a hole in the sign

LostTraveler, here is an updated version of your sign
(http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/RON.png)
(All my images look really, really bad because they were all done in Paint Shop Pro. I didn't use paint as it is very limited and ArtGem because it is shareware and you can't save in it.) I know the flames look dumb but it's because to tell the truth....I am not a good artist. ::)

Actually that blackening is pretty good Farsight.

What I would suggest is to draw around the hole carefully with the polygon tool, then invert the selection, select the airbrush again, and fill in the white edges around the hole.

I think you could probably improve the burn marks by having them go intowards the center more and maybe lees orange..

It looks brillianto ;P

Thanks alot. I really hate PSP as a graphics tool as It leaves miscolours on the outside of the lines and looks really, really, really..........., really bad. All I used was airbrush with colours.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. ???

The orange, red, and yellow spray was actually supposed to be flames. ;)
Picture without flames (updated)

Here's my version:

I used the lighten/darken and dodge tools in Paint Shop Pro, although I think I overdid it...

Oh well. Feel free to use it if you want to.

I think that looks great!! :D I don't think I could have thought of anything better. Do you think I should add animated smoke/flames? If not I will go ahead and use that picture.

If you think that you could animate smoke and fire, then go for it. I'd put the fire right on that green grass in front of the sign; it looks sort of bare. But that's just me.

EDIT: Remember not to add too much smoke/fire... maybe just a few flames here and there.

Thanks Dart! I was wondering how to animate pictures and put them up on the net here. Everyone says you use gif files but I'm not sure how to put in multiple frames. Can anyone help. Once I find out I shall put an animated background up with flames, as I think they could use some C & C as well.
