Background, castle kitchen-Need help-WIP

I tried to draw a cartoony backround, but I feel I have failed, I can't get it right. It is supposed to be cartoony and spooky-cliche but I can't think of any thing
HELp AGS'ers, your my only hope!
P.S. Don't mention layers, I only got ol ms Pain-in-the-butt

It does look cartoony, but not really spooky.
I think the composition is the main weakness of this piece. It looks a bit empty and the cooker stands in the middle of the room. It also is a bit too modern. The barrels could be wooden, the cooker made of stone. The floor looks like linoleum.
You should think about if the perspective is really necessary or if a simple front view with the cooker in the middle would suffice. If you keep the perspective, lower the horizon a bit and move the desktop (is it the correct word?) in the corner, because at the moment I have the impression the back walls angle is not 90 degrees. The desktop is also a bit low compared to the door.
For a spookier feeling: darker colors, spiderwebs, skulls, blood stains.
Despite all that it is obvious that you paid close attention to details and everything is clearly recognizable.

Edit: Well, I have tried to sketch a different view. Hope you don't mind that it is rough and wonky (done with a mouse).Notice that the tables are also too low.

Cobra said a lot of what I was going to say, I'd edit it. But...

1) Cartoony is just not my style,
2) my image host automaically turns all the images I upload into jpg and that interferes with quality and messes up the pixels so it'l be harder for someone else to edit from my edit.
3) I actually did try to edit it, but stopped because of the above reasons.

anyway if you want cleche you should add a bit of a witch's touch in ther y'know couldrons, old straw brooms.

Th contaiers for 'Bob's brains' should be jars instead, so we can see through.

You should make it really dark and only highlight places with candles or places where the light shines on (place a candle on the table or put a fireplace and make that the source of light)

You can always watch old horror cartoons. maybe Addams family?

Yes, it looks pretty empty. I would probably move the stove by the wall where the cans are and chop most off the empty area from the bottom (maybe 1/3). Then add spooky lighting maybe with two spotlights, other illuminating tools on the wall and the table and another illuminating the stove.
