It's very good.  I think perhaps some more clouds in the sky would be good, having them just around the moon looks a bit artificial.

maybe its just me, but the grass right above the rock looks kinda blurry

:o Awesome! It's a bit like one of those backgrounds Trapezoid made for Suspico.

By the way, I remember you were making a game with backgrounds which were like from Sam 'n' Max or DOTT or Larry 6(?)... how is it doing?

Ooh, very nice. The sky and sea are very nice, but the ground, trees, and fence aren't defined well enough (well, they're fine, but if you want critique, that's it :)) Just try to give it a little more contrast and definition around there, especially in the area on the ground surrounding the rock. It looks too blurred.
Excellent picture, though.

Looks great!

but how would it fit in a game?

640 X 640 hmm

400 + 400 = 800.... hmmm

tell me :)

It's obviously for a 320x240 game.. the height is probably there so it can have a scroll down or something.

Lovely painting! Only real criticism - the stars are too bright and sharp compared to the rest of the picture. You should have most of them greyed out at varyng levels. The stars near the horizon would be less visible than the ones above. You can also try the sharpen filter on the whole painting to see if it makes it look better.

This is a great background.  The artistic style is exemplary.

Nice work! You might want to fix up that tree a bit, though. It sorta ends abruptly.
