Ok, so today I whipped up a sketch of a devil girl ready to attack and sink her teeth into you. I know its pretty rough, I still need to clear up the hair bit (too lazy to erase) and yeah the hands are rubbish I know but maybe I might try a 'V' triangular sharp pointy angle tomorrow. I'm not going to continue on it tonight as I'm struggling to fight the effects of Atarax (drowsiness).

I will post my progress from this rough sketch, any C+C will be free, my biggest worry is how I would somehow smooth the surfaces from the shoulders to bum without showing 'edges' which otherwise suggest she is missing a back (does anyone know what im talking about here?

Ok, so I may need to thin out the shoulder bit but like i said this is a rough sketch and I'm more concerned with the shape.

Something about it bugs me but I can't put my eye on it.... oh and it needs a tail, I may add it tomorrow and see what I would come up with...

If I'm making a devil girl, Im wondering what colour it should be, red, grey, anything else? I know I may have the eye colour a misty white/grey colour to fit with the whole evil thing. Feel free to fiddle in areas you see an oppurtunity, thanks and I look forward to documenting this as I haven't done drawing in a while :-)

OuchMyTentacle79

definitely I'd say maker her red ;D she looks pretty evil.Awesome

Theeph

Cool drawing.

Did a paintover.

Tuomas

Make her more red.

Ok, I was going to post yesterday, but got disconneted so I'll do it now. Raise the chest. it looks as if the boobs were hanging from her neck and the back was in a cat liek curve, you know. Looks a bit like she was hunting for mice. So basically raise the profile, the head, the face, the chest... Oh, and add a tail, and make it more red. And let the breasts hang down, not to the side, unless they're stuffed with paper mass, which I doubt.

Other than that, she's cute, a bit more detail and you'd make me horny with it ;)

Oh yes, I forgot to mention I intended her to wear underwear. Even though there is the inner pervert inside me which wants her to be nude, I wanted some sophistication and some imagination left to the picture.

It's just a wee highlight of Theeph's fantastic paintover were I intend to have the underwear. I will use Theeph's paintover as a reference when it comes to colouring, I'm redrawing by adding a new layer in photoshop and this time have the lines smooth and clean and elegant. Look forward to working on it tomorrow :-)

I think the drawing itself is really awesome. If I knew anything about art, maybe I'd have something useful to say..... But I do really like the sketch!

Goo, goo, ga, joob!!!

You have a couple of problems with her. One is the left arm, which is left out of the picture, but doesn't add up with therest of the body. Is there a step which makes for the sudden drop of ground and positioning of her left hand? Also, the horns is a bit lost in the strong colors of her hair. You might want to mellow down the outlines a bit to make the horns stand out more, and make them bigger. The last piece of problem is her legs, which does not seem to be contributing to the crawling. It looks like she stands still, rather than crawling towards the viewer. Might want to take a look at that,.

A solid piece, shows promise. Ã, :=

1) the left arm can appear like this but I've omitted (for now) the extension of the arm downwards, It is all a matter of perspective, I will tell you now this image was largely modelled from a female friend of mine who lended me her help with a pose in which I have taken aboard now, but I'm omitting the background for now but i can be certain where the horizontal plane is from the webcam photo.

2) very fair criticisms to make, I guess I 'rushed' the development by insisting on carrying on the sketch lines instead of redrawing them (when on examination of other artist works, would make it 'tedious' erasing and redrawing lines at a later date). Im currently reading some literature on drawing and noted some mistakes i've made so far, but otherwise too late to change it so I might aswell go guns ablazing to the best that I can do and implement a more cautious approach.

Here is the sketch so far. Massively incomplete and messy I know but I have been halted by a mysterious change in my brush settings

this is driving me nuts! no matter what I do, even if I click other/shape dynamics I cannot get rid of that horrible 'square solid' look. It doesn't seem to register a thin 'wispy, pressure sensitive' setting usually associated with my Intuos3. I can get the pressure settings to be 'lighter or darker' but I cannot get the full dynamic freedom I used to have. Does anyone know what is going on? I'm not sure what I done to get this, but its stalled me for 2 days so i've refused to work on it those days.

Try resetting your brush set. That usually does it for me. Or if you have CS2, you can adjust your pressure sensitivity in the brush tab at the top right.
