Background is annoying me.

ive done some lines on the footer (is that the name?) to add more details, and also changed the cables and added a cable in the 1 room. Is just details, not a finished edit.

@Jakerpot: I'll admit copying and pasting the cables/tubes in the first window is lazy, because we're viewing the other side. However, why then in your edit have you changed the cables in the second window? These should be the same, as the two machines are identical and viewed from the same side. Also, if you notice the cables link into the panel things inside the tanks...

Lights above the doors ain't such a bad idea, may try that. Thanks rbaleksander! :)

Jakerpot

what are you talking about? Ok, they are the same tank, but why can't the cables be diferent? Will look a lot nicer, but, hey, wait. I understanded. But maybe just changing the cables width may look better. Yeah, light above the doors could be good, but remember to make them turn to green when opened in your game  ;)

So you understand? Or you still think they should be different? It's difficult to follow when you just write exactly what you are thinking. Think then write. Sorry to be rude but it's very difficult to understand what you mean.

Width applies in the same way. I may change the cables on the far left window, though. But besides that, it wouldn't make sense...

Jakerpot

No, i didn't uderstanded now you mistaked everything. Ok, the tank is the same, and the local where you 'put' the cables is the same, but why have the cables end exactly on the same place on the top? I now that i made a confusion in my edit, but now you can just make a cable larger or shorter and will be ok. Now do you understanded me?

markbilly

Yeah, OK. I see what you mean now, fair enough. It's just a matter of consistency. That's how I would imagine the cables for two identical machines in that kind of scene would be placed.

I think I'm going to leave it. I will look into the far left set of cables though, that was seriously lazy of me. Thanks for pointing it out...

Jakerpot, because the reservoirs are probably a mass production or at least in a package of 3-4 and more. No company - before, nowadays or in the future - has/is/will ever produced/ing/ce only one reservoir. If it does, it's usually called a prototype. So since this looks like a very hi-tech scientific facility, it doesn't make sense to change the reservoir's pattern.

btw I want to ask you something, markbilly. Why don't you add some other creatures (or humans only, if you don't want some E.T. forms of life) in the other reservoirs (or tank - don't know which word to pick :))? It'll add more detail and besides - with all those empty rooms the whole background looks a little bit empty. I mean - it's a lab or something. There are supposed to be more speciments in there. Otherwise one might wonder why they have build the whole thing.  :=

It's kind of medical, I suppose. Like the very corner of the facility where they can keep him there without too much attention being drawn. I kind of kept them empty for that reason... There aren't aliens in the game either, but your question of course applies to adding more human patients/subjects...

Yep.
Ok, since it's they want too keep him away from others, why not add a sign "Restricted area" or something like that?

Too obvious? Clichéd? Not sure. Maybe it isn't. I think keeping the whole scene really mysterious is important. I would make sense if you saw it in context... Obviously not your fault that you can't! :P

I like the style of the background. The lighting is nice.
I did some modifications to the glass containers and tubing. I thought they lacked detail and thus looked out of place.
Consider adding some slight variations to the tubing in the other rooms or else it will just look like a copy/paste job.
Also I think the doors are incredibly thin. I mean, compare the characters to the doors.
They would have to turn sideways to fit through them.

Good point on the detail, Kytandiafan, that looks nice.

Right, there have been loads of suggestions now that I've said I'll take up. I'm going to work on a new edit over the next few days and get it posted up. :)

There's something I forgot to mention. The black ceiling and floor (?) could use some detail.
At first I actually thought it was a train sitting in a dark tunnle. But then I realised it was a corridor.  :P
You could make the ceiling the same greyish color as the walls and add some air vents to give a sense of perspective.
And maybe some painted lines on the floor.

As for the lighting, I personally don't like the 'beam effect' of the floor lights. The only time you see light is either the effect of it on the opposite surface, or because of particles in the air.

I have a feeling this location is too clean for there to be enough dust in the air to see the light.

I'm incorporating ProgZ edit in mine, as I agree the floor lighting doesn't suit the scene, really...
