You need a better renderer like Mental Ray. You also need a light source. And the floor is getting cut off at the bottom. And there are no shadows.

Blenders new cycles thing is pretty good and free.

Yeah I need to make the room bigger or alter it to fit the living room. I cant seem to get the shadows right for some reason.

There's too many types of textures, the wall, floor, metal surfaces and the sky are "realistic" while the rest is cartoon shaded.
The chimney pipe looks weird over the curtain holder.
I'd make the left door of the sink cabinet a separate object (like you did with the right part), if it is already, you should control smoothing by adding edges...I don't know how to explain this, if you really want I can find an example to show you.

For shadows, just place some light source that would be there in real conditions - sun outside the window, light from the fridge, maybe a light above (like a room light fixture), maybe a red light from the oven. It looks like it actually isn't rendered, what are you using for the 3d? Because Max for instance needs to use mental ray (which is included with it), to render quality images with proper shadows.
I don't want the world, I just want your half

I am using poser debut for the artwork. I find it easier to use than Blender and most other apps as far as object placement. Modelling on the other hand is easier through Blender, but not that easy. As far as the materials, I was already thinking of changing it a bit. I do agree that the textures seem to realistic. I was actually aiming for a cartoonish look. So, I will need to try and change that a bit. The lighting and Shadows are still kill me though...
