I've been so busy with school work (even during the holidays) that I know I won't have enough time to spend workng on 'Project Hecka: Faith' alone.

I'm still waiting for Lo_res_man to show me a WIP of an image I gave him back in November 2007. I always get so stressed out when school holidays are about to end, around this time, I tend to annoy myself and am always worried that I'm annoying or pressuring everyone else.

Anyway a bit tired of waiting, I did this:

Now, for a very busy person, do you think this style/ method (drawing, scanning, pixel-tracing, clearing-up, fill-in, simple shading) is appropriate?

And do you think you'd play a game with these graphics that goes with the small sprites I'm using? (see GIP thread).

Then again, I'm still waiting for Lo_res_man, I have put my trust in him and with trust must come patience.

Crit and add 'deep' details; I might be able to use it for future referance. The real question in this thread though, is if this simple style is good enough to turn you on my future games?

EDIT:

Here, I contoured her hair, got rid of the three pixels above her lip and put on a shirt. How is it?

Overall I like it.

Can't get past the 3 pixels above her lip (the indent). Almost looks like a shadow mustache, like in King of the Hill, the character Joseph Gribble.
Maybe collar bones, if the character isn't going to be covered with a full shirt.  Unless you're just asking about the face.

Hi there, well first and most important: I would play that character anytime, looks really cool. Plus, it is asking for good animations, so go for it!!!
But take the moustache or add a big fluffy one! :)
Working on a RON game!!!!!

Yes, cel-shading is a great way to do a quick portrait. :) That looks really good. My only comment is that you should change the shading of the hair to follow the contours of the head. It won't take more time to do once you get the hang of it, but it will make your portrait look that much more professional, and less rushed.

Okay let's see,

*I'll get rid of the three pixels above her lip
*Add in a shirt (I often mess this up)
*Contour her hair to follow the head.

Seems simple enough. I'll edit the first post when I'm done.

Thank you guys.

Very nice - your art has improved very much!

The ear could do with a bit of adjusting, though.
