The explosion from the bomb looks wrong, just stuck on top, like light rendering or something in PS or PSP. It needs to stain each side of the wall and the floor, if you get what i mean.

Would all the walls, and the floor be nearly the same colour?

Maybe the door frame could be on one of the walls we can see, to make it more obvious perhaps.

You need to add a lot more to the scene. You need a barstand with some bottles and barstools, a dart board on the wall, a pool table, a lamp hanging from the ceiling or perhaps wall-lamps, and some shading. Also, you need to really fix that explosion burn. Draw it yourself with a pixel brush, and make it go up each wall...

and the table looks kinda wrong. If there was an explosin in the position that you markes then the leg closset to the table should be broken, not the one farthest from it. And try making the table legs a bit thiner. They look so strangley huge.

Heh probably the explosion was so fierce so the table got thrown flying and swirled for some circles before landing again. ;D
But anyway, my comments are similar to others, but only one thing that got me thinking was the "pools" of darker colour in the middle of the ground and between the cop's legs, what were these supposed to be actually? Maybe the cop wet himself before he died?

Also the door shouldnt be there, it would be knocked out of the room if there was an explosion

The update looks way better than the old version. The bar needs to be wider near where people would sit and have their drinks. Also, like I said, some barstools (tipped over and laying on the floor) would look really nice. Also, make the color on the floor different from the wall color.

The color is different ( ::)), and im adding stools now.

the colour is ALMOST the same. And it is red (which is an odd colour for any commercial establishment). I think that is what ScottDoom meant ::) ;D.
Other than that, the shadow of the bar shelf seems much longer than it should be (unless the shelf is actually that big, but can't be seen due to perspective).
Much better than the previous version btw.

Here's a (very) quick paintover of what could be achieved in this background:

What I basically did is recolor the wall and floor so they aren't as bright as before, and I also removed some of the black pixel outlines (because I was too lazy to finish recoloring the whole thing). If you don't understand how I removed the outlines, just give me a PM.

I still think it looks odd the door even being there....

But im using black outlines already, cant remove them now. It will tell you why its there hotspot.

It's definitely an improvement.

"Added a stool." - Heh, I laughed when I saw this.

The wall is out of perspective. The shadows are a bit off.

I cant see whats wrong with the wall or the stoll, he window is off prespective tho. The shadows would look like that in my opinion (remember it is not hitting the objects the same).

Edit:Didnt anybody see the character?

Quick p/o

- The green boxes show where the light is hitting the wrong sides of the bar.
- Changed the shadow of the stool.
- Changed the shadow of the bar.
- Changed the shadow of the broken table.

The shadows in my edit aren't right but they are a little better.

There is far too much light coming from that window though, if there is lighting inside the bar/pub then the shadows would be different and if the window is the only light source then the bar/pub and everything in it would be darker the further away from the window it is.

What do you think of the character?

the actual bar surface needs some more depth, you could barely fit a drink on there. I like the character though.

He needs more shading and all the other things mentioned in your (now locked) thread about him.

e.g. Armour needs to be improved, maybe give him a nose, his left arm is smaller than his righ etc.

At the moment he's very much only black/flesh coloured which imho isn't good... just needs more detail (and shading).

- changed the shading of objects (bar, shelves, and broken table) to better reflect light source (as dg mentioned about the bar)
- altered the bar a little to make it more like an actual bar
- changed the shadows of the broken table
- added shadows to the upside down stool
- added shadows to the hole in the door
- added detail lines to the walls
- made window brighter (as that's where the light is coming from!)
