I may have trouble with shading, and animating will be interesting, but i really like the style.
looks good, they style is similar to monkey island 3. how many animation screens are you going to use, because he is a high res picture ( im guessing) and u will probably need alot of animations.
colour in the others, keep up the great work mate.
What do u mean cant turn the charachter?
I'm having trouble drawing front on and side versions of the character that actually keep the charactor of the character.
The final product will most likely be in 640 x 480, so yes it will be reasonably high resoultion.
And the game is actually planned as a tribute to monkey island. Although having nothing to do with pirates what so-ever... there will also be no monkies, or ripped graphics, or redrawn characters from other games... it will be a tribute in spirit only.
Well good luck with the game. I really like the front view of you character.... Nice work!!!
The front view of the character looks good to me. I'd maybe leave the head turned slightly rather than straight forward.
The side view looks a little slim. The neck looks stubby and the rib cage is too wide and too far forward. I think if you match the head well enough, the body shape won't be that big of a deal. The nos looks different on the side as does the hair.
Why are do you use so "risky" pose designs for your characters? If I see someone in the "real life" with the pose I am seeing here, or in your 3-room game in GiP, I would really think he has a motion problem, or that he is a mime. As Helm said once "Do not try to be innovative" with walkcycles (or idle poses...) They are illogical. They look (IMHO) unnatural.
I suppose he does have a motion problem, he is meant to be a gangly gawky nerd... i imagine his walking to be slightly exagerated with a bobbing motion.
He needs a good meal inside him.
I like the pic. As yosef said you'll need a fair few frames of animation to make it look tidy, but I don't see anything wrong with the side on and front-view pictures... This characters cool.
