Re-working of background for my game... I'm pretty happy with it except: THE PIPES. Believe it or not, those grey things at the top are pipes. Can someone help me try to make those damn grey blobs look like pipes??

It seems a bit too clean to be a boiler-room. You should try making it look dirtier. Also add a few more shadows to it, I'm not sure where your light source is supposed to be coming from, so I can't really say where to put it.
Os Ultimo: Well, I know abou the clean bit... I'm gonna work on that. And I have done the lighting yet (It'll be much darker when I add the proper amount of shadow).
Duzz: Mind if I use that edit (With a few of my minor touches?)
go ahead and use it if you want, but you really should just do the same thing yourself, it really only took about 20 seconds, I didn't try and do it neatly or anything...

At the moment, I am unsure of how to go about editing the right side, but I hope the rest at least helps in some way.
The gauge and the red thing(name escapes me at the moment) are very well done.
I think those pipes needs to be redrawn, they are too messy (no offence).
I did a bit on the pipes, and some lighting. I think it looks alot better now...

WanderLady: Thanks for the edit... I might work on mine a bit more, and thanks for the compliments. I really like how the guage and valve turned out.
Mad_Reizka: I think they look okay. It's not like the main focal point of the scene will be the pipes, or that you see this scene for more than 2 minutes, heh.
I quite like the boiler machine itself and haven't a problem with the pipes either. I really like it and also the perspective is almost perfect... Maybe some dials or levers would make it even better...?
The only thing that bothers me, apart from what was said - shadows and less cleanliness - is that the colours are not to my personal taste, maybe a bit on the greyish side or have a more metalic (and rusty?) look...

Just a few notes:
- Since the light is coming from above, some of the shadows that are on the top of the pipes wouldn't be there.
- As an addition, perhaps a door to the inner workings of the machine on it's front.
I like the light source, and wonder if you'll have it sway to and fro in the game?
Wanderlady: No. The purpose os the light source is to semi-hide a character on the right of the screen, so it won't sway in the game, though that's a good idea.
