Well, after greatly improving my artwork, I've decided to finish the 2D Bone adventure game that I started a long time ago (which I acted too cocky about). Sorry. Anyways, here is a sprite I was working on today. Three colours. Not necessarily the final design, give me some suggestions for improvement. In my opinion, his left (our right) leg is too small compared to the other leg. I'm also not satisfied with the shading. Can you guys tell me how to fix these and other things? Thanks.

I'm composing the music for this game:

Looking way better than your old one.

I'd recommend starting with a stick man. Fiddle around with it until you are satisfied with proportions and pose, then flesh it out.

It makes me feel so fuzzy to see you as a nice, smart, and polite member of the forumsÃ,  ;D

I think the posture and all that is very nice and fits the bone genre. I agree with you about the leg.

To fix that I moved our right side of the body over 2 pixels and glued him like that. I think I even put the shading back right. Other than that I think it's wonderful!

:D

EDIT: Oops, I somehow made a gap in the top of his head   :P
oh well, I'm sure you can use your new found art skills to fix it easily. Geeze, just so fuzzy feeling.  :=

Ok I did this really quickly from memory so it might not be exactly right. Plus my computer broke down so I had to do it on a laptop (would've been hard enough with a mouse). Anyway, the main thing here was to show you the proportions. Note the bulbous head. Note how the nose is another bulb, attached by a small snout bit. The legs aren't great in my version but with bone the legs are always doing something different. Rarely just standing straight. I only did one arm but once again, just to show the proportions. Note the eyes and eyebrows, they must curve with the head. His body is another bulb, maybe a bit less bulbous I can't remember. But basically remember to draw all these objects as seperate shapes, that's the easiest way.
