Hi all!

I thought I'd come to you guys for some C&C. I know it's not perfect yet but I'm quite satisfied with the result  ;D . It's for a game I making and this is the main character’s room.

I made two versions of the room for you to choose between ??? :-\ ;), one with a more classic clean look and one with some cool textures.

Wich one do you like the most??

The ceiling looks odd to me, in both pictures, but in the second the choice of textures seem to make it look worse. It makes the walls and ceiling look like paper and cardboard. That said, the texturing on the door is good, and perfectly good for the floor.

The first pic reminds of "Larry Vales" - and I like it. The poster looks out of place in the second pic, I feel, as do the cracks in the walls, but work well in the first.

Either would be good, with a little fixing up, dependent upon what style of game you're going for.

The wall textures in the second one are off perspective, and the cieling (not roof, cieling/ceiling, dont remeber the i & e order :P) look very odd, like paper or something. The first one is better, INHO, though some things, like the drawers, the shelf and the pillow look off-perspective as well. The shelf would be perhaps be in perspective if the wall-end would be a little lower than the 'camera-end' of it... or something...

But very good, anyways :)

Ick textures

I hate these standard textures :P

The first one is waaay better

my tips:
- try to make images in lo resolution first try 320 x 200 or something
- for outlining, never or almost never use black outlines, but darker versions of the inside colour, it will make everything a bit smoother

keep going

I definately like the top one better, since I'm a fan of cartoon style drawings. I'm just curious about where the characters will walk, since there is hardly any walkable area in your background. One other thing is the lighting in the top one. Since the left wall is much lighter than the right, it seems that the light doesn't come from the small window.

Anyway, keep up the good work  :)

the first ting i realized was that the keyhole was out of perspective. just change this and it will be a work of art.  okay, im being weird.  but the keyhole does need to be changed, along with making sure the doorknob and everything follows perspective, in my opinion, to make it look better.  and yes, no textures, please.

but a very good start!

is this going to be a room where someone can walk around? or is this like a splash screen, or just a cutscene?
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.
