Title: bus terminal
Post by: blacksoul on Sat 03/05/2003 06:02:25
This is the entrance of a bus terminal (before anyone says anything, i just started it). The perspective point is far away to the left.
The problem i have is the "bus". Yep, that squary thing is supposed to be a bus. Obviously, it needs coloring, also i think the tire is too big, but should the bus be more slant or something ..????
btw, this image shows how bad i'm at drawing...

Hey! It´s not bad, nobody pays us, we are not all Picassos! But I see ther is a perspective problem, the aft part of the bus has to be risen up. As for the rest, I won´t say anything till it´s coloured and close to finished, because that screen can finally rock although it looks so poor now.

P.S. The bus has to be so much bigger... Or the gate smaller  ;D

Some color, and I think that would fit a "wacky" game very well... my drawing were like that when I started to draw "scenes"... When you draw more, you find your style and get the touch. This looks awsome to me! (I imagined it with some kind of colors)

You have a good start here blacksoul. Perspective can be difficult at times because there are more then one perspective points you can use. What I mean to say is that with your scene has only one point... the far left. You will need to use another point to the far right for the bus, and the temporary perspective lines for the bus will help you set the scale for the terminal door. In a test of this scene I did, the door was very small so I would recomend adding side windows to the entrance with a window across the whole entrance. It will appear to be a larger entrance then. As for the tire the size is about right for a bus you just need to draw it as an oval. You have a circle. Don't be discuraged (sp?). Perspective is difficult and it takes practice. Keep at it... you can do it.

This is a very good start for a nice BG.
you can try adding a waste basket near the entrance maybe a sign that says bus something or the other.
or even a railing that seperates the sidewalk from the bus pavment.
a graphiti (typo?) etc...you catch my drift.
make your pic more life like and less dull.
but dont get me wrong,it is not bad at all just needs more to be added...then color it of course.
im looking forward to see how you progress with this one.
i hope i helped.
P.S:dont worry about your drawing skills..from what i can see you can obviously draw well.
all you need to do now is work on it.

I outlined this new bus from a photograph i found in some album and then i draw the gate (the first time, i draw the gate and then the bus)...

still, there's a lot of work to do (windows, benches, etc etc)

Much better! Dont forget to add a shadow under the bus when you color.
