Thats lovely Laserschwert! Surprisingly you have made a muted palette work extremely well in the cartoony scene. The shadows and textures are done really good too! ( And no blue patch to boot ;) )

Yours was a totally different style N3T, more asterexy.

n3tgraph

teh blue patch rules  8)

hehe

thanks neole... I did put the asterix comic in my mind when colouring - I have teh whole collection :)

I had the whole collection till a few years back. I bought Asterix and Obleix All at Sea just today. Which leaves The Actress to get!

Thanks guys. Yeah, N3T's style is looking exactly like the ones in the comics... I tried something different, plus I am probably the only one, who wouldn't have painted her hair blonde  ;D

All left to do for me now, is learning to draw as good as you, Neole, so that I have my own pics to colorize...

You draw "analog", right? *g* I mean as for the looks of it you use ink ans markers, and then scan it... or what's your secret?

Andail

Great artwork, Lasershwert.
Welcome to the forum

Neole

Lasers, no secret here, just plenty of practise in school when teachers used to be giving boring lectures.  I use pen on ink, scan, then add shading in photoshop with the mouse using a transparent grey brush. On the darker more shaded looking images, I use a reverse technique - render cloud filter on the scanned lineart, then use a transparent erase brush to add highlights.

Laserschwert: (That means "Lasersword", right?)
Incredible! Amazing!
I think those two words describe your colouring pretty much... ;D
Welcome, indeed!

ratracer

wow, great work from all of you
I quite like to see how so different styles of painting can produce stunning results all the same....

Bored, quick, colour

Great pic Neole :)

Neole

I love it!! Esp the colors on the left upper tree and house and well. You guys really know how to color! Only thing looking off is the skin color which is too similar to the path.

n3tgraph

lol on the right (there where my blue patch is)
is that the end of the world? ;D

it's amazing how you can change sphere with colours

I thought it was just grass where your blue patch is.
Anyway great drawing Neole and fantastic coloring everyone! :D

Neole

The Blue Patch is the mysterious bermuda triangle of the AGS world. I predict many tales will be written about ships and planes and precious artwork disappearing down there in the future. All gaps and gaping errors in any piece of art henceforth will be referred to as 'blue patches' and the supreme ruler of the Earth Union will have the honorable title of 'Patchy Blue'. The 'blue patch' will replace the 'silver lining' as the most oft used color metaphor.

Laserschwert

Good god! We could make an awesome game out of this... "Voyage to the Blue of the Patch"... set somewhere in 19th century, with the looks of Jules Verne's fantastic stories.

A group of scientists and adventurers sets off to a great journey to discover the secret of a blueish light at the end of one path in an gaulish village... I'm so excited!!

;D

Neole

Another interesting fact about the blue patch is, when it changes to a white color on rare occassions it makes abstract objects like question marks over people's heads cast shadows.

Laserschwert

Yeah, I've heard of that... what makes it even weirder is the fact that those "questionmark-shadows" are flipped, so that left becomes right and the other way around... almost as if the "whitening of the blueness" doesn't want shadows to be cast correctly... it's like a mysterious vortex "upsidedowning" reality as we know it... almost frightening... it was once called "Twilight Zone" or the "Outer Limits"... but today it is just known as "The Blue Patch".

n3tgraph

beware of the blue patch - for it is indeed a clever foe

and a dangerous one too :o

;D

Neole

Interesting observation Dr Laserschwert. Many a jaded scientists have failed to notice the tiny but hugely significant horizontal-flip-shadow effects of the white-blue-patch.

Hmm.. what are these blue patches appearing on my skin? Arrrrgh, its the blue patch disease!!

Laserschwert

No no, those blue patches are just there, because I hit you yesterday, for drawing better than me... did you forget? Don't you even remember hitting your head on the table when going down? Mmh... that might explain it...
