Hi,
I've been working on some Matt Groening/Futurama - Stile Characters and wanted to know, if by any chance there would be an audience for such a game. Anyhow, here is the main character (Farnsworth/Burns-Hybrid) for C&C.
He's supposed to be a former sorceror and should look kind of pathetic.

Is there any chance of having a .png version of that? I'd like to make a paintover and frankly... jpg is not the way to go for sprites. As for pathetic, make his face smaller, as in more folded. lift the hat a bit and give him some kind of frown. thick glasses would be nice too. Make him more farnsworth and less Burns. Farnsworth was always so pathetic.
EDIT: And the blacklines.. I mean black outlines have to go. In my opinion that is.
edit : nevermind
Outlines and eyes gone - seems like you were right.

If you're going for a style copy, look at how they use their outlines
Hmm....
I wasn't going exactly for style copy. I am trying to make a cartoon-style adventure and thought the Matt Groening style was somewhere near to my aspired character style. Im quite happy with the result of Haddas' c&c - Nevertheless, thanks for the link.

Even the Futurama characters aren't consistent. Only two characters have their hair drawn with a coloured outline. The others all have black outlines. I wonder why.

To give him a "blonder" look? I don't know!
We'd have to see more examples?
The simpsons are all outlined, aren't they?
Compared to his head, both his hands and feet look really small. I think you should make those bigger.

That was actually intended. As long as it doesn't look crappy in the eye of the audience, I would like let the proportions as they are. I honestly hoped to get more C&C on the quality of the sprite, not it's content. (I hope it is clear what I tried to say)
His body looks to long, or his legs too short.....
