hello!
I've been a fan of point and click adventures and i've been waiting since summer to pick it up. I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to 3D design and adventure games, i could appreciate some criticisms

this is my first attempt at 1+2 perspective 3D drawing. I know its slightly boring but I wonder if the technical-realism is enough to make a good game or would it be offputting? (too cold) This room is more like a demo of skill then anything fancy.

(Drawn with Flash MX 2004 with object snapping: modified with PSP 9)

be honest, can I pull off the style?

The "style" isn't really anything special. Your light source is odd, and your shadows don't match. Gradients are generally a No-No, but if you're going for a 3D look without modeling anything then I guess it's ok. This background works for demoing AGS and learning about it, but it's not something that really stands out among other games. Perpesctive is good for hand drawing in PSP.

It was difficult to imagine putting a central light source from the centre of the ceiling - I tried to even it out from the two walls, none of this was 3D so I don't have the automatic light rendering (the lights treat everything as a flat surface).

Thanks for the criticism - I'm still not sure what can be useful for a faux-3d look. I do like Yahtzee's 3d designs though.

I toned it down a bit
