These are two walk cycles of the main character from the game I'm currently working on. Or rather, I'm continuing to work on it after a quite long break.

I was wondering, what you think of it and if I there are any mistakes, I didn't notice.
Any C&C on the animation or the character itself is appreciated! :)

Looks like my convertor seriously screwed up with some of the colors... :P
Everybody else is having one, so why not me?

What a loser.

Very cute, I like it.  ;)

Floskfinger

The ear rings move a little wierd in the side view other than that I think it looks cool ;)
Dancing madly backwards on the sea of air...

Juliuz

It's very cute, but to me it looks like the mouth (upper and lower) and the eyes (lower) are changing colors for each frame. Maybe it's just something wrong with my screen :P
I've got three 'taters, a bucketfull o' pelicans...and satan!

Oz

The front view is really good. I take it you are trying to simulate a motion effect by changing the colors, which could work, but in an animation of this type (few frames, relatively static movement), it just looks like the colors are flashing.
Diversity is divine!

AWSOME!, looks like a miniture version of the voodo lady from the monkey island series.

JeebusSez

Cute, although the eyes freak me out because they're huge and unblinking. Like a demon doll.

I'm attributing the flashing/color changes to your converterthingie. I like the earing flashes in the top one; it's a nice touch.

Oliver

Very good. But the the shoes are changing color too, or is it just me. I don't like the color of that blue belt, hmmm, I think it would be better as some green or something like that. Or a light blue.
You got it!

Coming Soon!

Thanks a lot for your comments!Ã,  :D

The flashing and blinking wasn't done on purpose. It just happened when making an animated gif out of the single frames. I have tried, but I can't get rid of it.Ã,  :P

Yeah, I agree on that. But since there are so few pixels in the lower earring, that's the best I came up with. I think it would look even weirder, if they didn't move at all.

You know, actually, she is the daughter of (another) voodoo lady!Ã,  ;D

Now that you mention it, the blue color indeed looks a bit aggressive.
I tried a softer shade of blue that's much easier on the eyes.
Thanks for pointing that out!Ã,  :)

Cute!
It looks like the character rises a pixel at the extreme poses rather than in the middle.
The extremes have a "punch" - perhaps this could be avoided by changing the timing.
Also, perhaps rotating the body one frame earlier and holding it would smooth it out.
The feet seem to slide in both views. I'd try lifting the forward moving foot a pixel. You could wrinkle the dress around that foot to break the symmetry more.
Still waiting for Purity of the Surf II

Voodo lady turns vector( and crappy)

keep up da great work!  :D

EDIT: looks like theres veins pulsing on the sarong or whatever on my one  :-\

Dambuilder

@TheBrat
*lol* I like it a lot!Ã,  ;D
Very funny (including the pulsating vines!Ã,  ;))

@SteveMcCrea
Thanks a lot for your critique.
I updated the walk cycle a bit. I didn't get what you meant by "punch", thoughÃ,  ???
Anyway, as can be seen (I hope at least), I raised the front foot by one pixel to make it look more like stepping and I made her body rise one frame earlier.
I dunno, if it really works though, so here we go... ^^;

(Gee, still blinking and flashing like hellÃ,  ::)
The lower one looks as if she's done some weird mushrooms... ah, whatever..Ã,  :P)

Also, as I said in my previous post, I experimented a bit with the colour of the belt. Tell me, what you think of it!Ã,  ;D
