Just wonder what you critics would suggest to improve my walkcycle for a kid on the beach.

What do you think of the style?

All suggestions are more than welcome,

You. Me. Denny's.

Nine Toes

I think that actually IS live video, with the background traced out.
Watch, I just killed this topic...

Well, for what it's worth, it looks like an animation. The random pixels everywhere aren't very appealing. Try going in and re-painting her so that every color is solid, and isn't just made up of 8 different color pixels.
You. Me. Denny's.

hmmm, your walkcycle seems to be hosted on some site about program for teachers.  :-\

Plus, like already been said: Your cycle looks like something that comes for a movie. Maybe you should just start drawing a side walk cycle in paint.

I'm not really sure what to say about this  ???

ManicMatt

This strikes me as lazy.

You have a flashing line of pixels on the bottom row, their arm keeps being slightly erased, and they look like they have a limp.

-Matt who likes to bitch

Davros

It kind of reminds me of sprinting Igor in a three year old's body - and thus is cool.  Not knowing who your character is, though, that might not be what you're going for.  I think the three-quarter (?) perspective is awkward and hard to draw.  It's probably better to start with the cardinal directions and add if you need to.

I don't think tracing is bad, if the original video is what you want.  But you have to do more than trace.

He-Man

I like the zombie limp.
That kid really looks to be up for some brain eating.

Da_Elf

im not entirely sure when ive last seen anyone wearing long sleve shirts and long pants and shoes to a beach. and i live on a tropical island, i know beaches

Tuomas

I bet it's just an albino that's bleeding from waist down, hence the limp.

Evil

I don't think it's that bad. This is the Critics Lounge and we should be respectful of people's art, and even more so for their courage to post it.

I'm pretty sure that, because of the angles and the movement, it's photos laced together. Which is fine, a lot of professional teams use this method. The angle of the character is very different. Are you using this with an isometric background?

Other then the few stray pixels (grey line on the bottom) and some fuzzy greys around the pants, it's good. Very stylistic. Mind posting some more sprites or backgrounds to compare it to? We can't give you a whole lot of help if we don't know the details of it's use.

Buckethead

Some how I think spook1 just found this image on some site and posted it here  :-\

ManicMatt

I got a bit rude 'cos I felt they didn't read the rules:

"Don't rush to seek other people's opinions before you have given it a serious, sincere attempt yourself. You can do much of the c&c by yourself!"

Now when they've clearly left pixels lying around all over the shop, the above sentence springs to mind.

Unless they're half blind, or colour blind, then I'll understand.

(Nice to give the benefit of the doubt!)

Evil

Some people have no idea how to do anything art related, or even computer related. They may have spent 100 hours working on this doing a lot of criticing themselves.

It's not a matter of not trying hard enough, it's a matter of what they see as needing correction. They might not have noticed the stray pixels, or maybe they want them. I dunno.

And thats the reason for sooooo many locked topics :)

Its funny to see so many non-helpful remarks about spooks1's walkcycle. I agree with lgm about coloring in with solid colors, then work on shading. But do take in consideration of maybe trying to draw your own walkcycle. Its alot of work at first, and you might not be happy with it, but you can improve if you actually put the work in.
