You think so? But I'd rather change the front and 3/4 view then instead of the other way 'round. This is going to be a serious game and I don't want my female characters to be over-sexualized. This one already is at a threshold I think.

Calin Leafshade

I think her chest looks perfectly normal for a girl of her build.

Calin Leafshade

I feel like I just got caught peeking in the girls bathroom.

cianty

Ha ha! Awesome, Matti!

I don't think you should worry, though. She looks good and definately not like some petty nerd's wet dream.
ca. 70% completed

Cuiki

Waa, that's a really cute sprite :D

Some advice on the side view, though:
-perhaps you want to make her butt stick out more :P
-her ear looks kinda elvish and doesn't really match the 3/4 view
Hmm..it's kinda steep. But with a sled I can slide down the slope.

Matti

cianty: Ah, that's a relief!

Cuiki: I wasn't going to completely mirror the sideview anyway, so here's another view with more butt showing. I also fixed the ears.

cat

I like the less butt version more (although it's hard to say because of the bag)

Cuiki

Yeah, maybe something in between?  :)

First try at an angled back view:

..obviously still very unfinished.

cat

Rather hollow back and her shoes should still show a bit.

Matti

A less hollow back and some brand new shoes:

I don't know what, but something botheres me about the whole thing.. maybe it's the stance, maybe the head...

subspark

It's her stance. In my honest opinion, she looks like she's taken all her weight off her right leg by leaning onto her left heel when instead both her feet should be supporting the weight. Get her legs to stand straighter, stronger, and with more gravity in her lower body.

By her build and design, she looks about 5'4" weighing in at approx. 59 kikos. Her current pose however takes away the subtlety of her rendition making her appear a little like a floating ghost rather than a real girl, solid on her feet.
I love her design and her outfit screams adventure. Just try and keep her based on real world physical laws. Do you have a female friend who can help you get her pose right for you? I find photographic reference always helps when drawing something from the natural world.

If your short of a female friend of a similar body type, try http://www.3d.sk
There's plenty of women from all nationalities and ages there.

Good luck with this sprite set. Looking marvelous so far.

Cheers,
Sparky.

Matti

Thanks, Sparky. That link might prove useful. Yeah, I could have someone posing for me, but that's unnecessary work I think - I don't even have a working camera  ::)

I finally found some time to work on this again. I didn't change much of the legs but took some suggestions into account (thanks to Tabata too) and I think it looks better now.

Old one:                     New one:

subspark

Hmm, her left shoulder blade is too flat. I'd keep the original shoulder blade and arch-in to the buttocks. Still, the arms are leaner, girlier and just awesome. Keep up the inspiring work, Matti!

Thanks for the heads up, Sparky.

Here's a new version and if nobody complains, I consider this pratically finished.

And the whole set:

subspark

Still needs more protrusion of left shoulder blade. AKA clear back arch! After this, I would call this sprite a complete set! Bravo for the stuff done already!  ;)
