This is a Flash animation I did back in 2001. It took roughly 1 full month to do. (I didn't work on it all the time... but only when I could find time.) A good friend of mine helped with the sound and my wife helped with the color. (color/printers and I don't get along!)

Size is 1.5mb for those of you that would like to have a heads up. Some violence and the word "hell" used... sorry! :)

"Hail to the king, baby!"

Now that was funny!

Hell that was funny! Oopps sorry...

The music was...a little weird... to my taste... I mean it was pasted rather 'badly', but it did have funny results...so okay...

Spoiler
And technically speaking the chicken did cross the road!

Was the end music from a Weird Al Yankovic polka?

Yes it was. Also, Jon Bon Jovi was in it and some various Flashkit sounds. I didn't do the sound, but I thought it was well worth putting it in.

My voice was in there for the biker and the chicken.

Nikolas: you could have done WAY better for the sound!

Corey: Nightwish???
"Hail to the king, baby!"

So what would you modify/change/tweak to make it a better animation?

Limit the size of the animation (don't fullscreen it).
Hell is like Tetris, make sure that you fit.

I think it was pretty cool - especially liked the straightforward absurdity of the cop axed to a lamp post in the beginningÃ,  ;D Guess the axe had to come from somewhere, so where could be more natural?Ã,

Only thing I can think of is that when the chicken sees the truck from "Feedback Company" he looks extremely scared. But then there's a new scene, (chicken up close) where he looks really cool and unaffected, and then gets scared because of the truck all over. A bit confusing, like the animation took a small step back in narrated time.

But cool animation anyway.

I guess I never thought of that. It is the first animation of this scale I've ever done... so when working on it, things like this never even crossed my mind. Thanks for pointing that out. I also am not happy how I ended it. I originally wanted him to waddle all the way to the sewer, but I was anxious to finish it. It looked very fast-forward in my opinion. I could have spent a bit more time and made the characters a little more detailed too....Great! Now you got me thinking!  ;D

LoL Watching it again now...

Lets see,

1) I would have some background animation happening...
2) I would speed up the animation
3) Car wheels to turn and truck wheels.
4) Stretch animations and sqaush animations will thing and thicken the character.
5) Your chicken need a waddle...
6)Your feathers look a little wierd when falling etc.. Should have a more floaty feel.

C&C Afflict style ;)

Your pretty good keep at it and youll be much beter!

- The background does look quite sterile.
- The speed drags, huh? I guess I could have put less frames?
- I tried to stretch and squash the character when he fell in the hole... (Didn't succeed, huh?)
- Waddling was thought of, but I got lazy. :)
- They all float as one symbol.... that explains the strange movement.

Thanks for the crits Afflict... you pretty much nailed everything! :P

Sometimes it is best to put the mouth shapes one frame ahead of the actual sound.

Just trying to help rharpe ;)

Oh it needs that red thing under the beak also a waddle... red one. ;)
