to put images directly on the board you have to use the [IMG ] codes
in your case:
[ IMG]http://www.graytravel.com/editstreet2.jpg[/IMG ] (without the spaces)
would result
(http://www.graytravel.com/editstreet2.jpg)
as for the picture:
it looks like a noir style, which is quite good though the perspective is off at some places, it looks like a combination of isometric and perspective drawing. to get used to drawing in either perspective or isometric, you can try to draw it on paper first or use simple black lined pictures.
