Ok, so this guy, Agent Murdoch, works for FATE
(Federal Agency for Time Emendation) He travels to diferent
times to prevent or see that sertain things happens,
to insure that the future turns out as it's supposed to do...

Now to the issue: should he 'change outfit before he travels,
like entering a wardrobe, or should i use a more futuristic
way, where he automatically changes clothes while travelling
trough time, so that the new outfit will be a (embarrasing)
surprise to himself when he 'emerges' in the new time?

Guy to the left:Ã,  Ã, Ã,  "Oooh, Nice suit, mr SNOB!"
Guy in the middle: "Have you forgotten that we are the same person?"
Guy to the right:Ã, Ã,  "Why do I then have to wear this stupid Dungeons & Dragons outfit?"

Mats Berglinn

In my opinion I would go for that thought about a futuristic way to change it while travel. Maybe the time-machine the guy travels in have a kind of mechanism that alters the clothes into a appropiate style (for example he travels from present which he has his "regular" clothes and when he travels to the Wild West in 19:th century his clothes change automaticially into Western types of clothes).

By the way, it's a bit hard to see which ages the guy(s)'s clothes are from. Could you make the pic more clear so we can see, please?

I think the futuristic way would be better as well. Sounds much more fun, especially when the new outfit embarrasing or slightly out of place or something. Could be kind of a nice running gag...

I don't really think it's practical that his clothes just appear on him while traveling through time.

I think it would be funny if the people he works for give him his wardrobe before he sets off (in a suitcase or something) and when he gets where he's going he changes into it.Ã,  Then he finds out just how 'on or off' they were in their guess as to the fashions of the time.

Might be more realistic this way ... and still be funny when he puts on the clothing in the past.

BTW, cool game idea.Ã,  I was doing something very similar at one time.

Darth's suggestion reminds me of that scene in Back to the Future III when Doc gets Marty "cowboy" clothes so he'll fit in in the old west.

Niiiiiice.

Because he was wearing strange clothing, he had to work around people's reactions, get proper clothing, etc etc. Which made things a lot more interesting for the viewer. Interesting is good.
Sssshhhh!!! No sex please, we're British!!- Pumaman

Ms. Rose's powers of association shine through :)

That's the very scene I had in mind while typing my post!Ã,  I think it would add some very interesting interactions indeed.

Hollister Man

Of course, perhaps the time machine has a mechanism for detecting the (maybe) proper attire.  I'm thinking of First Contact (Star Trek) when he tells the computer to give him the right clothing (can't remember off hand.)
That's like looking through a microscope at a bacterial culture and seeing a THOUSAND DANCING HAMSTERS!

Your whole planet is gonna blow up!  Your whole DAMN planet...

It's hard to see 'cos I like Bitmaps but AGS don't like 'em.

The guy to the left is wearing his standard issued overall,
that he will wear at the FATE-base.

The guy in the middle is wearing a 'federal-agency-suit'
(like those the guys wear that breaks down your door at midnight,
asking what all those illegal mp3's are doing in your computer)

And the guy to the right is wearing, just like he says, a stupid-looking
Hero-outfit; trousers, tunic, leather belt, and a cloak...

It's the forum not liking BMP's not AGS ;) (AGS hates JPEG).
You can just convert the picture into PNG format, and I don't see the reason why not (if your version of M$Pain or whatever programme you're using can't save in PNG, just grab a small programme that can convert to PNG, for example Irfan view.)

Moreover you can enlarge the image using forum tags so we can see it better.

Ok, Ok, ok...

EDIT: I like BMP's, AGS likes BMP's But Forum dislikes every image above 1kb...

Thanx for the tip about PNG. Never thaught about that format.

Normal size is not normal size, but it's the size they have in the 640:400
enviroment I use to make the game. You know what I mean...

Sam.

I love the style and I love the story, maybe you could do it like a Tardis style time machine with a computerised door which gives him clothes appropriate to the time zone but has no idea of fashion and gives you only practical clothing.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

Hero: Tell me again, how come that my clothes change when I appear on my missions?

Time machine operator: First, we send you to the wardrobe, where you'll change into clothes that correspond with the time you are going to. Then we send you back to the telepod, but you'll arrive 5 seconds before we sent you to the wardrobe. And since you then allready are dressed in correct clothes, we don't need to send you to the wardrobe, so we send you directly to your mission.

I like time-travel logics...Ã,  ;)
