Here is a scientific laboratory I drew. No real usage for it yet, but I'm planning to make a game very soon. It's sorta an EGA style, except not. The guy on the "torture rack" like object is Revenant (Actually, he gains the name Revenant after the scientists rebuild his body with a metallic skeleton). In the picture, Revenant is war torn, he has lost a leg and an arm from the "Red War".

Normal size (320x200)

Zoom 2x (640x400)

C&C is appreciated and I appologise if the bigger image stretches the screen for you.

shouldnt u be able to see the tops of each stair with that prespective, and why does the balcony just stop?

ravenfusion

hmmm... I'll have a go with the stairs. And the balcony stops because basically.. There is a wall there. XD

ravenfusion

How's this?

Sorry about double post. :|

Moox

Great Job, I like the hole ega feel, maybe add 2 pixels of depth to the torture rack, cant wait to see a game from you

LT: Hmmm... Something like this?

Oh, and good luck with your sprite work. :D

And Revenant's after-form is my avatar.

Mr Jake

Thanks, I'll check this thread later. I gotta finish some homework for my end of year assessment. I have got some ideas for the game too so I might write up some stuff when I get back.

Moox

add a few more stairs, i just noticed that the stairs go in rather than out because the wall is just a few pixels above the bottom of the stairs

HingedShinobi

Yeah what LostTraveler said, other then that I think it looks great!!

Darth Mandarb

I took a swing ...

- changed the stair case perspective
- changed the desk(s) perspective
- altered the depth to the torture rack thing-a-majob
- added perspective/depth the power outlet
- added some details (panelling and bolts)
- changed the wiring
- added depth to computer monitors
- gave railing more dimension

I know this is more my style ... But I just thought I'd share how I saw it ;)

Keep up the good work!

Hey Darth Mandarb, I just dropped in to comment on your edit which I think is great!

The stairs, I was a little worried about but it did seem to make more sense for a classic style game. The shadowing is great, the one thing I hadn't implemented that I was the most unsure about. The wiring makes more sense, since wires are rarely mainly straight, especially since the power outlet is pretty high up. I'm not so sure about the square-ness, since I'm used to the style i've been using but I'll look into it I guess. Also, great work on the panels as always, i've always liked your panel style. :P

Well, you've know for ages that I am a big fan of your style, so I concider it a good thing. :)

- Thanks for your help and thanks to everyone who has commented so far!

I did a really quick edit, (the door, I made it slightly taller) I edited the first image.

I'm loving your style, reminds me of Pokemon on the gameboy

ravenfusion

Heh, yeah.. The door did seem a bit small. :P
