Title: Concept Art for 3D City Model...
Post by: Revan on Fri 21/11/2008 23:04:05
Hi guys... Not been here in a while... Hope everyone is ok.

I need some help with composition and perspective.

I am creating some concept art for my Uni work (3D Model of 'An Abandoned Futuristic City') I have used some real buildings (Dubai) in my work but that is just to get the style.. I would really appreciate any info on perspective. and composition. I don't know what to do next.

Paint overs gladly welcomed  ;D

PS that in the BG is the sun... lol

There isn't really much of it to critique. Add more! You could add one or two layers of a light blue/orangeish background skyline. You could add some sort of cloud cover.
You've got your perspective lines, so I assume your perspective is fine ;D...but then again, I'm assuming the art is all place-holders for the actual 3D stuff.

PS: Seems odd to have a huge sign facing INWARDS on someones balcony (it seems to be a balcony with stairs going down).

Why don't you model a simple scene (to get the perspective right) and paint over it?  :)
