not with a bang.

Howdy folks, Notwithabang... here, with a little bit of concept art for C&C.  Mostly, I'm just kicking around ideas about the dress/appearance of the main character (note: the one that's not the bear), e.g. adding Liz Lemon-style glasses.  Of course, criticism of the image itself is also welcome (a little color info was lost in the PNG-ing).

Some IMHO from me...

1. I like the bear. 8) (may be there is a small problem with his pose: foots - frontal view, body - 3/4)

2. the background looks a bit like drawn on the paper. May be you may round the bottoms of the trees. Add more 3d in your scene. It is allways better to plan the backgrounds before drawning. If you don't know, what do you want to draw, nowbody will understand it...  (no offence!)  ;)

You can download blender, anim8tor, moho or another 3d program and prepare your scenes with it. Simple place some planes in 3d space - put your hand drawn images on it and study, how it looks...

3. the girl. (what's it all about)  ;)
at first look she looks good - you see her face, smile and upper body. cute. IMHO - good. I like it.

but then three things destroy all her "smile magic" - the case, paper and her right hand.
take more time for the case and the paper roll. They ARE very simple to draw and when you make them right, they'll stop distracting us from the girl.  think about perspective. After all they are only simple retangulars.

And do not use the text in the bended surfaces without altering. It bends with the surface.

The hand is diferend thing. It is complicated to draw hands. Ether hide it, or redraw untill you'll happy with it.

I hope, some art profi can help you better than I. There are many very good artists in this forum. May be some of them will help.

the transparent skirt is interesting idea  ;D but the same as for the case - it looks not right. Think about the hidden and visible parts. the form...

look more at the girls. They are worth it  ;)

if not on the street, then in "teh internets"
