Here is a picture of crashed ship, far from final
Ship crashed an hour ago.
So what could i add to it, it feels half empty !?
And what seems wrong with it?

???
Very nice!
A few ideas:
-would it be appropriate for the ship have any logos/names etc on it?
-perhaps it could look a little more buried, like its really nosed into the ground.
-A chunk of it could have fallen off on impact and landed next to it?Seeing as it's
-Seeing as it only crashed an hour ago, there should probnably be some smoke.

I agree with every point, except i dont know about the smoke, only if i make some fire :)
Absolutely great!
Some nitpickings:
-You should add more colours. Logo's etc. (what dan said)
-Maybe add some windows and a door of some sort.
-Add more "dirt" around the bottom. Now it looks more like it has been there for a couple of weeks and the grass have had some time to grow.
But its an overall great pic! Looking forward to the game! :)
Can't have been a very big crash, seeing as how it's almost entirely intact. When I envision a ship crashing, I expect to see at least a couple of parts ripped off, open circuitry, a bit of fire, or at least smoke from inside, and a lot of damage to the surroundings :)
The vines laying on top should point to the left, as the ship came down from the right. And I wonder if the ship was a space-only one, cause nothing in this shape could fly with gravity around.
Besides that, great work as always!
Looks gorgeous!
It looks like the ships come in at a low angle and kind of skidded along the ground for a wys before coming to rest - if that's the case, it would have ploughed through a load of trees, knocking them down. A felled tree lying in the foreground maybes? Or just generally more debris and devistation. As eralier posters have mentioned, it looks like a very restrained and genteel crash site at the moment. :)
Davy
It is gentle crash, as the main character survived :)
if thats an 'escape hatch' then perhaps the door could be on the floor?
More nitpicking:
The ships colour is somewhat strange to me. I would prefer it to be the non-orignial grey/silver.
Moreover since a ship would wieght around 50 Tons at least, I would expect the ground to be shattered, no matter how gentle the crash was. Take for exapmle a simple fall from 3 meters, of a 50 Tons thing. That would create a crater. Now if we're talking about a moving ship that size that would have recked the whole scenary actually and not a singel vine would be seen...
I agree that markings should be added, and also a window ???
Something about the crash: The ship didn't came from the right, but from the "up" part of the screen (towards the viewer), so you cannot actually see the whole devastation that ship made while crashing (and sliding few meters) as it is behind the ship, i made the color "yellow-orange" as this is not a human ship. So i wanted to be a bit different, thats why i didn't draw any windows too (but i still may).
The wines are seen because the ship slided very slow in last couple of meters, so that would't have much impact to the sorroundings.
Ship tried to make an emergency landing, they moved a bit down with high speed, they hit grass and trees (and a lot of , now exinct, animals :) ). When hiting the floor, ship turned a bit a slided in the position as it is seen in the picture.
I started work on a small paint over and then read the post, it seems a lot of my ideas have been said previously, but here, anyway. Forgiv my lack of talkent :P

A few things I noticed:

Isnt that hole where a door was ?? i dunno, just geussing :P
With regard to the wing getting past the tree, i did wonder that myself, but it was mentioned that it dropped from above, so i guess it could be feasible.

looks amazing, sektor!
and shouldnt there be a windo or something, you need to see where are you going, and it seems it wasnt going wery fast, cause it hasnt slided a bit(no heap-dont know right word, hope you get the point)...

If you read further above, i believe you would get an answer to your question.
Somehow it looks like it has been there longer than just a few hours.
Maybe because of the colour?
This looks fantastic, Sektor13!
Is it an alien ship? Because to me it looks as if someone made a cardboard model of the STS (Space Shuttle), then created a huge version of the cardboard model from some metal (copper or bronze or something like that).
That's for the following reasons:
- it's monolythic surface - no windows, no doors, no hatches, markings, service panels, etc, etc all that stuff that spaceships have
- the blocky shape (not very aerodynamic)
- the material is very exotic, like something out of Dune
- the ship's shape makes it look VERY heavy
This would all point to some advanced technology, with the crew having no other means of getting in/out than using a beam transporter (since the hole looks like a hole after an explosion, instead of a door), and no means of seeing anything other than a sensor array (since there are no windows). Also the ship's propulsion would have to be extremely powerful, since the (apparent) weight of the ship.
So if it indeed was your intention to draw a very exotically looking ship built by a mysterious and highly advanced alien race, than it's spot on. (Perhaps except for the overall shape, which doesn't look very elegant, since it's so blocky and the rear seems too big)
If it's meant to be more human, then you should probably add lots of stuff to make the ship's functioning more obvious.
It is an alien ship. About the weight, ship is composed of unknown metal, and that could mean that it is resistent and light no matter how it looks. As for the shape, it looks very "not aerodynamical", but this is a space shuttle so it doesn't matter much as ther is almost no friction in space.
I am adding more debris of the ship and trees to the picture.

Smoke will added as animation in game...
The composition is lovely, but to counteract the 'empty' feel you could attempt to pioneer some 2D greebling.
where did the yellow chunk in the foreground come from?
Also, i think you need to look at it and make a deciscion on whether or not the landing looks too rough.

You only see half the ship you know ;)
Yes, this is an part of the other wing, not seen in the picture ..

That's actually very interesting and helpful. Thanks for the link.
This is absolutely fantastic! Details, lighting, colors, atmosphere.. perfect!
One word: WOW!
Is that even a word? Whatever, this looks fantastic. Again, one of those seven deadly sins befalls me: ENVY! :)
