I'm not sure if I should leave it at this or if it looks to bear...

What do you think?

Not bad, I like it. I think it would look better without the glare on the S in Farscape.

It can use a little more shading in the character too. Looks good nonetheless.

No way.  The glare on the S is what makes the title.

I'm not liking the broad range of colors on this background.  The whole image looks like it was saved as jpg several times after each edit.  Too many stray artifacts.  Even on the black of space, you have several shades of dark gray.

His face needs some improvement, but I'm not the best at drawing people, so I'll leave that for someone else.

Not when the glare is being cutoff....notice how it looks REALLY wrong when the glare is created but ends for no apparent reason. I suggest he remove it or include the whole glare.

BTW, the character looks like something out of 'Out of this World' or Flashback. Not a bad thing either. haha :D

EDIT: Even though no one cares about my professional opinion, Ill still put up my version of the title screen.

More colors make it feel lively and most of the time welcomed by gamers. :)

Reasoning behind it. The title is brighter with a neon yellow. This directs the viewers eyes to the title first. Then to the subtitle. To prevent the viewer from spending too much time on the background (stars), I lowered the contrast, making the stars appear grey. This also allows the viewer to focus more on the title and character than anything else.

Its okay to create a color theme out of the whole image, but since the brightest color in your image was the stars themselves, it distracts from the image itself, which is suppose to be a title screen. Also, the general color (tan) used in the image makes it feel flat. There isn't much differentiation between lights and darks.

Love that edit. Reminded me a bit of good rotoscopic game called Another World.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Not much of a surprise, as before the edit Kadji-san mentioned Out of this World, which is the U.S. release name for Another World. And Flashback is more or less a sequel.

The edit definitely looks more dramatic with the sharp lighting / high contrast, but the original style isn't bad either. The face could do with a touch more shadow to make it look less flat, but otherwise the guy (whoever he is, never watched Farscape) seems just fine to me. The glare seems to be an important part of the logo, but it should not cut off just like that on the top and the bottom. I don't like the glare in the edit though, it's too... cyan and short. Google image search is your friend.

Questionable

I think Kads edit is killer!

I do think that the face still needs more reworking, and I also think that the multi-colored and very high contracts highlights on the guy make it seem like these is a Plasma TV on, somewhere off to his left...

The pinks and purples just bother me... dunno why... but a REALLY killer edit.
All my trophies have disappeared... FINALLY! I'm free!

Cool... thanks for the indepth crit. I really like the edit, I like the new glair on the S and the position of the subtitle, I also like the 'Another worlds' style character. I have taken your edit and edited the shading a bit, making the left side of the face darker. What do you think? Plus is it ok to use your edit in my game?

Looks MUCH better. Good edit. Honestly, I don't mind you using it. I'm just happy someone is doing something with the Farscape universe. :D
