Thanks to Kastchey!

I'd very much like comments and ideas and links on readability and style mostly. On the pic you can see where the fonts are used.

Well, all of them are barely readable or not readable at all. Care to post a picture that is not downsized? ;D

I like the font that describes the usage of the other fonts  ;)

It's because it's readable... :P

Why does that font remind me of the newer Yathzee games...?

That's an insult and I insist you take it back!
Also I've updated the screenie.

No, you just enlarged the original picture back.

Doing so won't make the lost information to come back, mind you.

Downsizing 320x240 ... why?

QuoteDoing so won't make the lost information to come back, mind you.
Why am I reminded of every crime program ever where the cheif investigator walks up to the screen and says "Zoom and enhance!". I cringe every time.

Isn't that photobucket shrinking the image?  But yes. Very hard to read due to the blur of the resize.

Yeah, Dual you nOOb, upload something useful  :P

One thing I definitely don't like is the inventory writing , because of the missing spaces between the lines.

Are these really several different fonts? They all look the same.

Oh, and "AntiAlias: OFF" text is, er, OFF the button. A little.

It's on purpose. Okay, then how about I give you a link to download the picture and you resize it at will.

They are all the same font, mostly, but it just varies on its use.

We don't want to resize it at all. ;D
We just want to see the original size image. For example on the verbcoin I have no idea what it reads. Can't even guess.

Okay, if you want to see the original size, then just check the demo, I guess

It's up-to-date concerning the fonts at least.

That doesn't make it very convenient for us. :P  I believe your image host is only resizing the image because you've slapped 6 different screens in one image (the total width and height is probably limited by your image host--therefor resizes your image).

Edit: actually reading your earlier posts, you almost seem confused by what we mean.  If not, I'm sorry for misunderstanding.  But the image that you're trying to get us to look at is 538 wide.  Not divisible by 320 (even with those windows side borders adding more).  Which means your image host has down sized the image you uploaded.

Eh.. right. Well, that explains it all then.

Overall, it's okay I think, but the option screen is a little hard on the eyes. The white font on the light blue background isn't a very good choice imo. I'd play around with the colors a bit.

Are the first five font examples you show even different?  If there are any minor differences I don't notice them.  I think the font is readable which is the most important thing.

No, not different as I stated. They're just used in a different occasion.

To tell if a font is readable I go through the sentence backwards, just to see if every letter is clear to my eyes.

Test is passed (no mistakes).

Messagebox's background/font contrast is a bit low

(I am not advocating a blue on puke layout, just wanted to make a point).

As a sidenote: this font is similar to Croshaw's one, with the important difference that Dual's character's height was more armoniously chosen (hence no rollercoaster/seasick effect, hence more readability).

The font has nothing to do with Yahtzee!

There are only so many ways to do a boxy lowres font, it's not surprising that the similarity is striking.
