a preliminary character sketch, not very serious...just trying to capture a feeling

Wow, thats very good looking sketch! There's just something wrong with his (its) waist. But other than that great work! :)
It's supposed to be armor, similar to Roman Lorica plate
Looks great, exept his skull thingy. Doesent he have any eyeholes? or does he somehow sense his enviroment?
I think the eyeholes are on the sides, like on a goat/ram - you can just about see one on the right (just under where the horn meets the skull), but the left is in too much shadow. That's probably my only crit, actually - I know it's more of a 'concept' sketch, but it's a bit too dark to see much.
yea I think youre right. Im now thinking aboute the wings, not much detail in them. I know its a concept sketch but the wings still need to be sketched in more detail (if they are wings) so you know how to do them when you create youre character.
Hmm... your sketch has rather mysterious spirit and I like it. Good work, stuh. It's some kind of emotional art, isn't it? ;)
Hehe, that looks cool. :o
Thanks guys. You can blame the lack of details on my ability :-\
Anyway, there will probably be some more, and slightly different designs to compare with coming up.
Wow, Stu! This picture is creepy!!! It reminds me of something out of Silent Hill... I find your vison of 'demon' is a lot scarier than the kinds you would see in movies or paintings. Great details, and I like the fact that he's half-bathed in shadows.
I'm gonna go have nightmares now, lol!
Have you ever thought about creating your own comic book or graphic novel? With the talents you have, it's something you should really look into.
I want to see more!!! ;)
This is definetly very cool. I wish I could see the wings better, but my monitor tends to be a bit on the dark side sometimes - so it could be that. Could be more frightening/menacing? That's my opinion though.

Since the head had quite some intense highlights, it looks a bit odd if the other surfaces that face a similar direction don t as well.
The lack of highlights/reflections in the upper armour/areas along with the relatively lit up front armour gives him a sort of a slacker pose as I see it, since the lit up areas lit up pop out.
Of course, in the end a matter of what looks best. Not sure if I prefer my version.
