Title: Desert Backgrounds and foregrounds
Post by: on Mon 11/10/2004 03:59:00
Okay I was just wondering, I am trying to create a scene something you would see in Star Wars on Tatooine which is a desert landscape and many native habitats made of sand and stone. I am using photoshop but does anyone have any tips to coloring the scenes to seperate the two and make them look effective.

Everything so far is......yellow!

And deserts aren't even yellow for starters!  :-X

Wrong forum, post some pics please. But I would reccomend a darker tan with verticle streaks for rock and some noisy tan for sand

also, if there is sand blowing around in the air you will get some serious fading out of things, like a mist effect.  so you could construct it in layers, and for the ones further back, adjust the levels, or brightness and contrast to give it depth.
