Title: Door behind the mirror.
Post by: [Cameron] on Tue 28/09/2004 09:00:40
ProgZmax set a challange for mee to draw a futuristic door leading to a mad scientists lab. I drew this and animated it. I got the door bit but not the futuristic. I decided to keep this door anyway, to improve my spriting skills. Just wanted to hear what you think.

i think it's cool. the reflective-type surface is good.

It would be real cool if it would actually reflect. But this might be really hard scripting.

I suppose, that it'll be better if you draw something reflecting in mirror, that'll be more realistic and interesting.

The panel looks... not quite right. The circular feel of the keypad (as well as the washed out colours) doesn't work very well. There's also no sense of depth, or animation on the panel itself

(such as flashing lights, or scrolling text, etc)

And the eye-reader is a bit off too. Sorry I can't be more specific. Take a look at some sci-fi magna or something, and let it influence your stuff. They're usually pretty inventive (caution: tentacles).

I like Blackman's edit a lot. Maybe make the glass or maybe the steel door open at an angle. But as Flippy said the panel looks too weird.

The eye reader is a bit low for reading eyes. The guy would have to bend pretty uncomfortably to line up with it.

What if the mirror would move like that? Sure the reflection is not brilliant at all and there should be a room behind....

first of all, when this moves i can't make anything out of it, maybe because it is moving too fast or what

no the moving is correct as the mirror splices in 4 parts and perhaps going inside?
