Title: Early Background, C&C?
Post by: Fronzel on Fri 16/04/2004 01:29:44
This is an early background for a short game I am making, but its really an excuse to improve my AGS skills

Comments, Help? I want to add some trash, and probably signs, to the store fronts, but yeah.  Critique's appreciated.

edit:  Sorry, it was showing up earlier, guess freewebs doesn't like image linking.

Not sure if the angle works but it looks really good. I like the whole crazy buildings.

Advice

Its good that there is shading on the door and shadows but maybe some shading on the sides of the buildings..

On the pinkish building is that supposed to have a door? If its the back of a building however it still needs windows or something.

Other than that.. lookin good!

see, I thought that, but I'm not sure how to add some shading to a building that is fairly smooth.  The purplish building is either going to have windows or a kind of atm for accesories (robot) on it, I just haven't added that yet.
Also, are the colors too garish?  I tend to like brightly colored things, I softened them a little with noise, but...

Thanks for the input.

What program are you using BTW?

If u r using Photoshop or something similar.. just magic wand the wall and put the tolerance up first so it does the whole wall.. then just use the dodge tool on the left side (methinks) or where the light is coming from and dodge on the other.
