Here's a couple of mugshots of the hero in my latest project. I know some things are a bit off(especially the one to the right). What do you think? What could I improve?

Reminds me of my early work, similer colours and angles in fact. mine was not nearly as compitent though. :D

I like the style!

Right, look at his hair from the front angle, and compare that with the side angle. They look like different hairstyles to me! Those strands on one side are not in view at all, which seems wrong to me.

Here's what I'm getting at, although I'm not great at drawing on computers:

I put strands sticking out, and also changed the grey hairlines to what i think looks better, but your character! I also made the middle one has a parting, which again I suppose is my own personal preference. Still, the hair sticking out bits is my point!

Thanks Matt!

I've been meaning to fix his hair from the side angle, but I couldn't make it look right. Although it's a very simple modification I think it looks a LOT better now! Both the lines and the spikes really improves it a lot.

When looking it again now, I notice how I rushed his neck a bit. Is it that apparent that I need to change it you think?

His jaw line in the pictures on the left and right are a bit too much for me. I'd suggest making them less extreme of an angle. Especially in the picture on the right, it looks like his neck runs all the way up to the top of his skull, almost like his face is mounted on the front of his neck instead of on top of it.

Celvin

Hmm, I see what you mean about the neck. Could you illustratete it for me, please?

My art skills are pretty weak, but I did what I could. As I started to look at it, I decided his jaw line wasn't so bad after all. Maybe I just got used to looking at it. :) Anyway, I ended up making pretty minor adjustments.

For the left-most picture I just shifted his mouth over so it doesn't look like it runs onto his cheek. For the right-most picture, I didn't really know how to fix his jawline without changing the entire dimensions of his face. So I ended up just shifting his neck over a little. I don't know, I think it's a nice improvement.

You still may want to fiddle with it a bit, but hopefully is helpful!

Just an idea. And I like Eagermind's edits.

Celvin

Thanks for the ideas guys! His mouth was really out of place, it looks better now.

When it comes to the jaw line. Although, it looks a bit unusual as it is, I kind of like it :P Having strong features just gives him more character in my opinion.
