First character i have made since i was called AlecW. Please be harsh. But dont be mean. Its original dimensions are 21x54 pixels. How do i make it bigger withour the fuzz.

Edit: Made picture less fuzzy. Hope you like it.

Gfunkera

I think it looks a lot like the Indiana Jones sprite??? And why is it so damn blurry???

MrColossal

what did you resize it in? if you used Photoshop when you resize change the resampling to Nearest Neighbor at the bottom of the resize box
"This must be a good time to live in, since Eric bothers to stay here at all"-CJ also: ACHTUNG FRANZ!

[Cameron]

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7 and no matter what i do it always turns fuzzy when i resize it.

lithium (nirvana fan?) why not try drawing your own sprites, and when you resize on psp change the dropdown menu to "pixel resize" not "smartsize".

Not where the name came from. Last year we did a mock trial. I played the psychologist and researched bipolar disorder. Had to find any drugs available for bipolar. Only for depressiopn syptom thus became Lithium. I used to be AlecW or Alec Whitechurch my alias.

The paintover is a little obvious. I would at least change his stance a bit.
Darken the hair below his ears to show it's behind his head.
Lighten his skin or make his hair darker. People with natural hair this blonde seldom have such a dark complexion.

And now a new Character for Ron if i ever get round to making a game. :) Its the paintover done as an original. Old then New.

Chicky

yeh, i really like the ron character, i like it better than the paintover. Keep this style.

Much better! I like it a lot.
Just fix his left shoulder, lengthen his shirt, and remove/add to the pixel on the end of this trousers.
Maybe add a little shading if you're comfortable with it.

Good job!

[Cameron]

What do you think. Trees were first attempt at shading anything.

Green sky?
If that is the sun, maybe remove its black outline to show it's glowing.

I suppose you drew this with MSPaint?
Think about using another paint program that lets you use lines and shapes. You could define some points and adjust the curves to your liking.
As it is, your outlines are very jaggy. They definitely need fixing.

Good job on the shading though. Makes a huge difference, doesn't it?

[Cameron]

New version with, hopefully, fixed shoulder longer shirt.
I tried changing the pixel on his pants but nothing really looked good

I meant his left shoulder. Don't you see the double pixel there?

Here is my edit:

Put a big enough border around your sprite so you don't have to draw near the image's edges. I fixed his right foot because without the image borders it looked like squeezed in a corner. :)

And that t-shirt logo doesn't hold up in the resolution you're drawing it in.

Btw, you can use the width and height attributes when posting your images here, so you don't have to resize the images in your paint program.

Edit: Updated URL

thanks for the adviec. Ive now redone the bg.

What is the porpuse of doing all the likes "shaking"? Is it some kind of attempt to create a goofy style? I am sorry to say that it does not work... Don't you have the straight line tool? It is a powerfull tool for those who don't want to work in a zoomed image, pixel by pixel... I would recommend to use it, look at the tree... does it look natural? Nah... less freehand, more line tool, is my advise, you'll finish sooner and the result will be better.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

[Cameron]

More hading. And the shakey lines are coz im pretty crap at bg's
