Cool stuff! The caped count is my favourite.

Squinky (wierd how I always reply late), I LOVE that 20 minute one you did!

It would be the awesomest thing to see you create a futuristic game in that style...kinda like a "By the Waters of Babylon" idea, but with like robots and warriors and junk. It would rock the *ock.

Yep, thats mt next scheduled game (after fry 2) It'll be called Stan and Sancho save the day. Stan is a thief, so I'm gonna have a whole bunch of heists for him to pull off (like qfg) He'll have thieving skills and all that good stuff. Sancho (the 20 min pic) is a starfighter, so I'm gonna have some arcade starfighting sequences....

I'm planning on it being a talkie....When I get an outline done up snake, you wanna throws some creative ideas my way?

Squinky

Okay, heres some trace-overs I did last night, The top one is a goofy character idea I had, and the bottom is an example walk cycle image of stan, the main character.

All you flash guys: When I export the images as jpg or bmp or whatever, it really pixelates it and causes all that damned anti-aliasing, anybody know anyway to retain as much of that vector look as possible?

I don't think I'm gonna go with the stan I posted here, theres not enough character, too plain...
---edit-----

Maybe I'll go wwith something like this...Any tips?
Thanks...

MrColossal

well you can save it as an AI file for illustrator and photoshop can open those or open it in illustrator and maybe you can have more control

i don't know what version of flash you're using anyways but 5 does it fine

you're prolly gonna have to export them large tho, cause the tests i just did now were kinda wonky and exported at 96.6 dpi but then again i didn't really play around

my criticism on the art is just this: more contrast between the shades or no shading at all

i can barely see the shading you put on his boots in the last image, the sex bot is much better but i think that's the biggest flaw so far

but also ya know rock awesome wonderyays
"This must be a good time to live in, since Eric bothers to stay here at all"-CJ also: ACHTUNG FRANZ!

Of course I would end up with flash 4....bah, I say....

Anyways, The coloring/shading issue is one I've been tackling with a lot. I've been told I use highly saturated colors too much, so I think I may be overcompensating now. I originally had the lighter shade much brighter, but it looked goofy to me, most likely because of my bad placement of shadow in the first place.

Thanks for your help man, and your site/art rocks like always...

Synthetique

I say: Take a screenshot! and fix it up in your favorite prog..
