Welcome all AGSers!

Here's a almost empty game room. Little bit of lightning and shadows. What do you think?

The style is beutiful! But I think it would be good to actually add something there.. :)

Looks great. I'm in love with those doors!! I'm just glad they're not the typical door you always see.  Nice color and the gray borders are fantastic.

As victor noted, it's quite empty.  Perhaps a couch so that those watching TV don't have to stand or sit on the floor?

The lamp seems pretty cool, but underneath it there is no light.  I mean, where's the bulb?  To me it seems like your lamp's bottom has a cover on it and the light beam is magically coming out of nowhere.

I love it!  Only downside is it makes me ashamed of my own background inabilities.

The style reminds me a lot of Bud Tucker in Double Trouble.  But if you took out the rather cartoony TV, it would work for a serious Martian Memorandum style game too.

Very nice. I like your plant and its shadow. The wallpaper gives it a japanese touch. If that's what you are aiming for you could insert one of those low tables and make the doors sliding.

If not you should add a window, because your room is probably too bright for a single lamp. You could also add a light switch and replace one of the door knobs.

The aim was to make a style-like Bud Tucker .. game indeed (everything seems ok, wals perspective etc. but it's funny green walls and messy wallpaper). I plan to change left door to a window, and make the room as a teenage bedroom.

Here's a new one with some changes.

Very nice improvements chaos. You could think about adding a wardrobe or some kind of shelf at the right side of the back wall next to the door. At the moment all the attention goes left. It would also make the room seem more inhabited.

Layabout

yeah, put some shelving. And add the obligatory mouse hole...

Really nice style! :).

Maybe add some "curtains" ? (not sure about if I spelled that word right)
Wouldent want to get to much light in when you go to sleep :P.
Maybe you could move the window a little bit higher aswell.

Lol, your talent is like natural. Good job mate. Keep up being so good at backgrounds and I'll be out of a job sooner or later
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

radiowaves

Looks great, except the trees outside, they look too solid and lack of suitable focus distance. Maybe the upper corner under ceiling, in the left, is too proportional too. Some scratches would make it good probably, to break the ruler-like edges.
I am just a shallow stereotype, so you should take into consideration that my opinion has no great value to you.

Man that's pretty. And man that cat is big :D

The only things that really strike my eye are the torn corner there (it just looks like it's done on purpose and then, it looks a bit off), the left antenna, the bed seems a bit long for a guy who would enter such doors, oh, and lastly, the cupboard could be deeper if you know what I mean.

My only issue is the cap on the hat stand. Is it a cap? If so it needs to be bigger and more defined.

Otherwise, very nice :)

Great improvements again.
2 things though:
- I preferred the floor of your first pictures.
- the photo should also be tilted when the frame is tilted

Unless the picture was already tilted when taken.  :D

It looks really good. Few thing seem off though.

The door. It's rather small. In my experience (at least around where I live) door are about maybe 75-85% of the height of the room. And compared to everything else in the room the room does seem small.

The carpet lacks perspective and the whole room lacks shadows. This is very noticable when lookin at the carpet under the table.

You seem to have some different styles in there. The stuff from the earlier version seem blurry and airbrushed when most of the latest additions (table, fruits, hatstand, picture, cat) seem very spritelike, handpixelled and clean. Paperbin and wardrobe seem to be something between these two styles.

Oh, and just noticed, is it intentional that the picture looks like a sprites head resized to about 150% ;) Maybe could use some retouching, eh?

Khris

I tried to correct the proportions and the perspective:

Not sure if this is any use since you had to redraw the whole bg. But maybe to give you some ideas for future bgs.

It helps to keep a character sprite present in the pic while drawing, ideally on a seperate layer and with different zoom levels.

Thanks everyone for opionions. My idea was to make it silly-funny. I know the cat is big (its a toy) That not everything is right size to each other and that the picture is not in horizontal position :D. I wanted to make a style like this. And this to be funny :)
