Heres the new version of the plant room side 2. I think it looks some what better. You tell me








Theres a few things i still need to add.

Lights, Mould, Water pipes, Shadowing.

Hi! First of all I must say it looks good! Very nice indeed! A room that would make me play it. I would just check the bricks/furniture perspective on the wall to the right, somehow it's not matching. Maybe it's me.

It looks like the brick walls are trying to convey a slightly 3D look to the room but it sort of looks a bit unnatural, like if it were a picture for example taken on a angle the middle bit would also show that but it's straight. However as far as the objects against the brick wall, they look okay because they seem to be on the a slightly type of angle that works with the angle of the brick wall.

Otherwise the room looks very well constructed and appealing, the lights and shadowing will probably just make it look even better and I'd love to see the result once they're added.

The problem is that the perspective on the bricks doesn't match the perspective on the closet.  This should be easy enough to fix.

What perspective should the bricks be. I used the floor has a guid for the angle of the bricks. Are they to much downward.


Heres a in game shot of it.  When angle do you think the lines should be?

the bricks shouldn't necessarily be at an angle but become smaller the further back they go.



on the left is what it should look like, on the right is what you have...  but other than that, good work!

Hi  I tryed to fix the bricks. I changed the angle a bit and made them smaller in the back.

The only issue I notice is that the angles on the left and right sides don't seem to line up, otherwise it looks fine.

You really need to learn and understand perspective. You'll never be able to get this right otherwise.

Consider: The bricks are laid horizontally. The top of the cabinet is horizontal. Therefore, the top of the cabinet and the bricks are parallel. In your drawing, they are definitely not. All the horizontal brick lines should point towards the vanishing point.

Here's a quick mockup to give you a rough idea of how it should look. The perspective stretching on the brick texture is ugly (and wrong), but at least the bricks have a consistent vanishing point.

This is on it's way to becoming a solid background .  As a general pointer, be aware of consistency in style... for example, there's places with black outlines, coloured darker outlines, and coloured lighter outlines, and some places have no outlining at all.  Being consistent will help your background look more polished

One other thing. Here is both of sides of the room. Do you think i need to fix the brick on that side to. Or do you think its fine. The front side of the room bricks are smaller on the sides.

With the type of brick style you're currently using it doesn't seem to matter as much if the angles aren't 100% in sync, they look enough. I suggest you use that same brick design for the entire room, it looks better than the other one and using two different styles in one room(from either the front or back) doesn't make sense.

How will players navigate in a room with two sides? Can you "rotate" your view, or do you use "exit spots"? It's a nice idea to make all sides of a room playable BTW.

This is like the 20Th time i tryed to redo the bricks. i been working on it for a few hours. My eyes hurt.

The 20th time, now look, while the room may not look perfect, nor the bricks, striving for such a thing in a way that is almost obsessive is not the way to go. Relax, it doesn't look that bad at all and I think you need to chill out about it being the best and move on with the rest of the game.
