Funk Soundtrack

Hehe. I wrote a couple of old-school funk/hip hop tracks for an animated film project, and I thought I might pimp them here for some general feedback. I wanted to create something with a "sampled" synthetic feel, along the lines of Jurassic 5 and The Beatnuts. Tell me what you think!

My only comment is that all the songs tend to be mixed too much in the center, if you widened the mix to make it more stereoscopic, it could sound even cooler.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I was going for a flat and dry mix, but some panning might help. Thanks!

Yup, I could tell you were going for that 70's dry sound.

Try this sometime, when you have a really dry backing going, put a lot of reverb on some timbale fills or some other sound, and EQ all the lows out. The reverb against the dry backing sounds really great. And it gives you a chance to use more reverb than normal.
