While working on some sprites for my game Aetus:Vita, I decided to take a break. So I made Guybrush, in a style that is half Monkey Island 2 half Monkey 3, so I kept some pixellization and gave some detail. It's just the result of my break, tell what you think. ;D

his hair is a bit strange, hair spikes coming from different directions. And I can't remember Guybrush having a beard.
I'm not really a fan thought, I let the monkey island veterains tore your down. =)
as you can see from the costume he's wearing, that's Guybrush from MI2, and there he had indeed a beard. Didn't grew tired of mentioning the fact, too ;D
looks cool, the only thing I'd change are the eyes. Now they're turned upwards, that makes him look a bit stupid- in combination with the smile he seems to be drunk ;)
Make him look straight forward. The arms are a bit too thin too (compared to MI2).
apart from that, a really good sprite!
I'd say it is dead on. The hairthesis may be a bit odd, but the overall design is really good. The only thing that brings some sort of unbalance is the slightly (IMO) small boots. You could make them larger, not so much in width as in height.

For the most part it looks good, but the arms seem a little narrow and the waist too high. I imagine you're trying to capture some of the MI3 look (although, personally I'm not a fan of how they made Guybrush look in MI3), but with the big pirate coat on, I don't think the arms would look so "tailored".
I agree with EagerMind on the arms. Eyes look much better. That slightly raised eyebrow was a nice touch in the first pic, now it looks spot on.
Some how I just didn't even read any posts after the first one and went straight into paint and edited it..

I thought he looked too cute so I made his iris smaller, and I cut some of his hair, and also made his right arm one pixel wider.
I think he needs a pupil with the new eyes, and maybe mess with the waves in the hair a bit more. it looks like he went and got highlights, if you toned down the difference it might look more natural. i like the sprite, good job.

I think the arms are not the problem, the problem are the legs, you must keep the boot's weight and make the legs thinner ;)

Nice Guybrush! I can't fault anything about the original because it's a new style, and I like it.
