Title: Graphics Tablet First Try
Post by: Rakuen on Tue 25/10/2011 13:30:09
Hey all.

Recently recieved a graphic tablet for my birthday and this is my first result. (Well second if you count messing around like an infant with a new toy  ;D)

Based on a Mary Blair pic. I personally am the most unhappy with the silly 'grassy' tops in the bg and the pipe.
And yeah, I used a filter on the Caterpillar  :-[

Concerning light source, well the original picture didn't seem to have much consistency either lol.

Any critisism would be greatly appreciated for this budding amateur!

Ps. Apologies if the size is rather large to post, if it is an issue I will resize.

I'm assuming you drew the mushrooms and the caterpillar first then drew the grass? I think there's kind of a differnce in the textures. And I don't really know what's happening at the bottom of the middle mushroom.
But I like it, good work for a try at working with tablet.

Oh yea I forgot I also added noise to the mushrooms  :-X
I'm not sure myself either really, a magical glowy reflection?

Yea, magic, that works  ;)

Better without it then? Gotcha! Cheers.
