So, did you guess?

Yes, that's right! I got a tablet!

*cheering of fans*

It's really hard to get used to it, especially when trying to do strait lines. I still can't understand how people do all those good drawing with them, its so hard. I use a program called Corel Art Dabbler, which I got with it. I also got a ball-less mouse with it which I don't know what it does.

Does anyone have any advice to help me get better at this, or better yet, point me at a tutorial? Thanks.

And yes my name is Dassier  ::).

Practise. A lot. That's the best way to get used to it, draw everytime you have a free minute ;p

Ball less mouse is to use like a normal mouse but it can be used on the drawing tablet, saves having to clean it wen it gets mankey.

My grandad got one of these tablets randomly an his came with art dabbler. Its an alright program as far as i can tell, it confuses the hell outa me and doesnt have all that many tools. Corel is a pretty good company for it though, we have some great programs at school for it but they cost a bomb. Just practice loadsdrawing lines, squares and circles is pretty hard but it makes everything else a lot easier once you get used 2 it.

Good luck with it - Rich
Seeing as I really shouldn't have to get up at such an ungodly hour as 7am, ill put my watch forward by 5 hours to make me feel better...

Listen mate a tutorial isn't going to make you automaticly learn how to draw good with it, just as others have said keep practising and you'll do fine. Wanting things to instantly happen is just really bad, you've gotta learn this.

If you don't give time to something, then it's not worth it. But judging from your previous works, you do have detication to your work because I see improvement in every thing you draw. So, just keep it up and you'll do great ;D

I'm also practicing a lot on OpenCanvas with people from the chat room! Il post some work when I think its good enough.

There's no real tutorial showing you how to use a tablet - since it's mostly practice.

However, there are a few things you can do to help you get used to the dimensions:

In my opinion, the hardest thing to get used to is the angle/proportion of the tablet dimensions to the screen.  So, use it all the time in Windows.  It might get frustrating or feel slow compared to a mouse but practicing by browsing the web will acqaint you with the proportions pretty well.

There's also an exercise (I don't remember if I saw it somewhere or if someone like Mr. C recommended it) wherein you use whatever graphics program and: Try drawing a grid, then try circling the points where the lines intersect, then try drawing something in every-other square (something simple, like triangles or X's).

It would also help if we knew what kind of tablet.  They've got different layouts and settings that might help.  If it's got the option, try configuring it to proportional instead of "to fit."  It feels more natural (to me, at least) and is less confusing.

I sympathize since I just got a new Wacom 12x18 and am re-learning my movements.

I got used to mine in a day or two. Just keep practising. You'll get it in time.
