Just thought I would throw this in here and hear what y'all think. This is the GUI for one (of the many) testgames I've been mucking around with. It's based on a (dutch?) comic about Inspector Clifton of the MI5. Anyone familiar with it?

The top bar obviously slides up and down, while the inventory is always on-screen. Right-hand inventory arrow is idle, left-hand arrow is "clicked".
(background is from InstaGames so nevermind).
I like it. can you teach me how to make GUI's?
Thanks.
I'm not sure I'm the right person to handle the technical aspects og creating a GUI. ;)
This is a good GUI Tutorial (http://www.amazing-ebooks.co.uk/ags/tutorials/tut5.php). There are some others. (Check out the "Tutorials" thread in this forum.) Just draw the interface the way you want it to look in Photoshop, and chop it up into buttons and background. If you're stuck somewhere I can try to help.
I like it. Maybe the inventory area could be a bit smaller, it's a bit distracting from the most important area: the play area.
And yes, I know this character. I've read some comics about him a very long time ago. He drives a classic (red) car doesn't he?

:)
That's him.
Thought he would be a good subject for a game. Some action, some humor.
I agree with you on the inventory issue. Do you think it would work if that also would be "hidden" like the top menu, or is it just annoying when menus pop up whenever you touch the bottom or top of the screen?
Great! I'm looking forward to play the game. I'm aslo familiar with Clifton comics- fun stuff :)
The answer to the inv problem could lie in the GUI I'm working on. See more about it here (http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/tk/slidingbars.htm). ;)
TK: Yeah... Maybe I'll make a Sam & Max/MI3 inventory... Could be cool with a look into the suitcase of a secret agent... :)
