So, some may remember my 'Attic' where I tried my new style. I've made another one.
Attic

Things to know before C&C:
- It exists in real life.
- Yes it will have furniture.
- No the floor isn't finished.

Looks great except, the fire place needs some depth.

Same about the fireplace.
Otherwise, fantastic! I love the gentle lighting around the candles on the wall, and the colouring in general is very good, very subtle so it doesn't hurt the eye, and very interesting and unusual at the same time. Do you live in this place? cause it has an old-fashioned slightly victorian look, plus the chandelier.. If you do, it must be fun, and if not, then where did you take the photo?

The ceiling's color is different from the rest of the image and it looks a bit transparent at times. Maybe add more darkness to it and more distinguished lighting around where the chandelier is?

Am I imagining things or is something moving in that picture on the wall? It looks great btw, with the tree and everything, they really fit into the room. I'm guessing you drew them too, even though they resemble a photograph in some ways.

Fantastic! :)

wow, that's great!
really reminds me of the backgrounds in CMI.. that is a major complement...
i love it!

and yea, the fireplace is too flat inside.. it kinda' looks like a fancy t.v is stuffed in the floor...  :o

still, excellent work!  ;D

And the right line of the fireplace has a weird angle... I mean, something is drawing in a cartoony style, and other totally different it to twist a straight line with no reason.

BTW, it is a greaaaat background... the textures on the lamp are ones of the best seen ever here in this forum.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Some thoughts:

(i) I think you should decide whether to use outlines or not. At present it gives the pic an inconstistent look imo. The main example of this would be the candles that if any shouldn t have dark outlines.

(ii) The chandelier looks out of place imo. I think one probable reason is that the saturation level seems relatively too high. Another reason might be relatively too strong contrasts in the reflection.

Yet another thing could be that it seems to float in the air. The proportions to me suggests that it would be attached roughly at the place where the current chain ends. Hence the plate on the roof would show.

(iii) the doorhandle looks very small in proportions imo and lacks 3d elements.

(iv) the fireplace, not mentioning the inside of it, looks odd to me. The highlight and color suggests to me that it s made of lead or something similar which seems strange.

All I can think of at the moment.

On a more positive note I agree that it has a certain CMI quality.
