Title: Hopeless Walk Cycles
Post by: Calin Leafshade on Thu 27/08/2009 22:17:16
Can someone give me a hand with my walk cycles.  paint overs are welcome and encouraged.

The side cycle isnt too bad but the up and down ones seem to glide a little on AGS

I would try making the body bob up and down like you did in the side view, otherwise it just looks like he's marching. Also, I don't know if it's just how you did the GIFs, but the up view is going at a slower frequency than the others. Does it have the same number of frames? But the side view does look very good. Keep up the good work!

When importing your gifs into AGS, I'm getting large black areas on most of the frames. (something to do with  the layering perhaps?) If you can remedy this, post the individual frames for the walkcycle, or just post this character's standing frame for each direction, I'll give the walkcycles a whirl.

Yea that will be the alpha channel.

If you ignore it and use the 'top-left pixel' for transparancy instead it will fix it.

I will fix the alpha channel though, since it needs fixing.
