right this is a background from the new game im working on. it is the main characters bedroom. i'm not sure about perpective but the desk in the corner of the room was evil to draw. what would be the most obvious way to improve it?
cheers

Somehow I couldn't load them. It just pulled up a Yahoo page that said something lik "This page does not exist" Or it was unavailable or something.
Why don't you post the picture actually IN the forums, rather than the link.

If you don't know how to post it, here's the code.

He did post in the forums.
The forums don't allow BMPs, please save it as PNG, JPG, or GIF.
Yeah, but I just saw a link.
I mean the actual picture should be here.
I just saw links that didn't work.

The original, without the 'blodges'
The perspetive isn't bad. I like it, although the corner desk makes the screen a little strange. Very few desks are made that way. It looks like you have made a semi-isometric screen here. Its not truly perspective, ATM. To get a true perspective, all the parallel horizontal lines would have to be 'pointing' to the same point in space. I like the way it looks anyway.
The mouse looks like its standing up, I can't really explain how to fix it, but its not quite right at the moment.
thanks for the comments, i know whats up with the mouse. it just needs tilting down a bit.

better or worse?
Better.
I think the desk needs a bit of depth, as it looks as if its made of paper.
Otherwise, good, I like the poster and the shelf.
The pillow and rug need a bit of shading, and the bed looks strange, more sheets.
ah-ha! the desk, thanks forgot about that. i didnt draw the poster i kinda copied it, its a green day poster.
here we go:

I went ahead with the other alterations mentioned too, I'm not sure about them
(http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/alterations.PNG)
Well, the bed looks much better now, IMO. I don't see what else you changed. Oh, and you should shade the rug, it looks plain. Maybe add a simple pattern to it as well, like a target shape or something?
One thing I notice, now that I look again, is the shelf, way off perspective.
The room is angled

but the shelf goes

.
Just my $0.02
i didnt really do it in perspective. its like.. the room is split in half down the middle and its mirrored isometric if that makes sense...
The shelf is fine, the bed is what needs to be changed.

Makes perfect sense!Ã, Just doesn't look right!Ã, I would suggest you either stick with all one angle (isometric) or use a vanishing point.Ã, Unless it's a style you're trying to achieve it just doesn't 'fit' together to me!
Some of the detailing is very nice.Ã, I particularly like the books on the shelf, and the computer is off to a great start!Ã, (lamp needs some work)
The poster, while neat, looks VERY out of place given the lack of similar style/shading in the rest of the room.
The outlines look excellent, not using black outlines gives the picture a really nice feel. The games/DVDs on the shelf look very nice.
Evil is right about the bed. If I hold my finger over the end of it, the pespective looks fine.Ã, We should be able to see much less of the end, it should be at a sharper angle to the camera.
yeah I think your right I'll change the end bit of the bed
(http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/bedangle.PNG)
did that do the trick?
I think you still need to get rid of that poster. Either draw one yourself, of think of something else to fill up that wall, because it looks very out of place.
ok i'm on it.
