Say,

would you, people, be kind enough to provide any kind of feedback to the following PDF file? http://www.musica-ferrum.com/documents/EMF_Catalog.pdf

I trust that there are no errors in the text, but perhaps something has slipped. Most importantly, though, I'm interested in the graphic side of things and the design side of things... Any comments are most welcome.

Thanks

At least at my PC the "landscape" icon is shown above the note icon.

Also the verbal "table of content" feels a bit clumsy to me.

Looks pretty good to my eye. The one thing that sticks out on first skimming is that the pictures in the bio section could use a little more padding. The words are kind of cramped around the pictures.

Technical Information:
"It should be noted that the catalog, as a
PDF file, does not copy any information
or your website" - I'm not sure if this is supposed to be "of"?
"Youtube" should be "YouTube".

"Technical information" on the section's title page should be "Technical Information", same with "biographies"; or at least the titles on the title page and in the headline of the pages should have the same capitalization.
Also, shouldn't it be "Composers' Biographies", with an apostrophe?

Besides that, I only see the misplaced "landscape" icon cat already mentioned.

Nikolas

Thanks for taking a look and offering some valuable feedback.

Here's the updated catalog: www.musica-ferrum.com/documents/EMF_catalog1.PDF

Cat: The icon was misplaced and is now corrected.
The titles are now, not bold, so it looks kinda better (I think?) or did you mean something else?

Eric: Changed the spacing in the right side of the pic, so it's definitely less cramped now, but perhaps it needs more, or another way of doing it?

TomatoesInTheHead: Language was corrected (and I've NO idea what I mean in the first phrase. Probably deleted some stuff and that remained). Fixed the capitalization as well and put the apostrophe (') in the Composers...

The icon, as I said, was corrected.

Are you happy with the sympbols (that they are grey and all that)? I did them with some pixel art and some shrinking, so perhaps it's not the 'right way' to do it, but I'm clueless as to how else to do it...

I meant that the description of the content was not very professional:

"Lastly the forth section holds all the information available for Editions Musica Ferrum." The last chapter holds some general text about the the company, "all the information" would be the postal address and all the legal stuff (company registration number, jurisdiction,...)

Maybe you could change it to
"Finally there is some background information about Editions Musica Ferrum."

Btw, the latest link does not work.

Nikolas

Hmmm...

correct link: http://www.musica-ferrum.com/documents/EMF_Catalog1.pdf (I think the captial 'C' did it...), otherwise I'm still blind to what's wrong with the link.

What you say about the info is correct... I'll see that it gets changed...

Eric

I tend to work in favor of more white space in design, and would add more to the right and bottom of each picture. Here's what I'd do:

(Obviously I've trimmed some of the text in Photoshop, but this should give you an idea.)

I might also consider a thin, 1- or 2-pixel border around these images.
