Design is nice, but the backround is killin' me eyes.

I played around with some color replacements and #5B6A8C (R91 G106 B140) looked the best to me, that is, if you're stuck on the brown bar.

I think it looks too plain, a bit less than basic. But Those designs are the most effective.

Looks nice so far.
Maybe add some mouse-over effects. Would make it easier to navigate through your site as links are instantly recognizable.

Other than that, really good.
