Title: I made a signature for myself...
Post by: Huw Dawson on Thu 23/11/2006 16:15:36
Hey hey hey!

I made this signature for another forum in PSPX, but I think it can be improved... The text mainly. Can't antialias it. :( Anyway, I thought the picture was kinda cute so I made it into my first signature. Stupid school not having Adobe Photoshop. :P I'm really pleased in the way I manipulated the fur effect to make a scratched tone. :D

Any comments and suggestions?

Hi

I changed a few things:

- Reduced the size to something I always use (it was kinda big).

- I blended in an texture

- added a border

- change contrast

Sorry I dunno about the text. I'm always stuck what text myself. Plus I have no idea how to remove the text without it looking ughly.

How about some snow on it?

I don't have those fonts..

If you want, post the image without the writing on it, and mention the fonts used, then maybe someone will make the font clearer for you, as I don't know how to anti-alias font in photoshop. ('Cos someone told me you can't make it look non-smudged?? Was I told wrong?)

I think the contrast is fine the way it is, imo.

It says:

Penguin God

The KBD has nothing on me

I was about to post that... ._. Gosh darn it. :P

And I'll get around to redesigning the signature soon. I think I just need to tweak the font and it's size and I'll get it juuust right. :)

Well I personally think that picture signatures are just a waste because they mean more loading time and sometimes messes up the forum layout as in, lots of space between posts.
And if the graphics are stolen from some game or something it makes it just more worse.

Hang on... there's not even an ounce of critique in there...

That's not good...

You can talk with your trophies taking up precious webspace!

I don't mind small banners, but on boards that don't have any physical size limit to signatures they sometimes cause horrible disorder in a thread. Especially when people with huge signartures are sending one line posts one after another. I don't mind small images, but big ones I don't like. If you have something you need to express by an image in your signature, make it compact. That's just my opinion and sort of a suggestion, though.

if you dont like seeing peoples signatures then go into your profile and turn on this option "Don't show other users' signatures."

there is a restriction on signature size for this forum as found in your profile. its 600x50.

now as for this one in discussion. i like the character :) maybe if you just reqork the fonts you could see it better when squished down to the 50 height required.
