Space! Why isn't it ready yet?! ;)

As far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with the following of the perspective you have chosen for yourself, so I can't really say anything about that.

Also, considering this is probably your own imagining of your own style of transport in your own version of the future, it'd be odd to be telling you to make stylistic or structural changes.

Still, while I suppose it can't really be anything else, it doesn't really scream 'spaceship' to me. While I suppose it would not really be necessary, it doesn't appear to have any open cockpit viewing window-thing. I pasted it into a black background, and the lights(or are they windows?) didn't really pop out-they seemed very greyed out to be lights in the middle of deep dark space.

Maybe you could add some sort of identification (logo or flag or coat of arms painted on)?

Anyhow, it's a very pretty piece of art.

It's great.
The shape is not very symmetrical though... If you look carefully the middle section is not actually in the middle. It's closer to us.  I love it though.

Thanks for the comments.

Stupot: the ship is as symmetrical as it gets.

I second what Babar said, it needs some polishing to look more like a spacecraft. I would edit the front section. IMHO the transition between the nose and the top is too steep. I would connect the nose with the top and implement some of the ideas Babar mentioned (windows). Maybe you could also change the front edges of the side section to make it less blocky, it just seems a bit too blocky to me for a space ship.

Looking back, these are maybe a bit drastic changes I suggest, but maybe they could help.

Anyway, it is a piece of art, keep it up!  :D

It's looking nice so far :).  Beyond design changes, I think it could do with some upped contrast and more shadows, to make the shapes more readable.  Very quick adjustments and some painting over (unfortunately I forgot to turn the aa off, so things are a bit fuzzy), my edit on right:

In addition, I notice that some parts seem a little over aa-ed, in that there is a lot of banding.  I think it would look more clean and space-y if you kept corners as sharp as possible (which is one of the nice things about iso).
Hope this helps :)

EDIT: I would also remove the aa on upper edge of the raised platform on the top of the ship completely, so it doesn't blend into the level below :)

Babar: I had the lights brighter but they stood out too much so I just made them affected by the shading so they blend in better with the rest of the ship.

Oliwerko: I'm quite satisfied with the general design of the ship as it is. The design is inspired by the ships from Homeworld. Also I think "look more like a spacecraft" is pretty vague, considering the different types of space ships we have seen in all sorts of sci-fi movies and games. I appreciate your suggestions though.

MashPotato: Yeah, I definetly have to add some shadows. This is one of the obvious things I missed. AA will be fixed too. Thanks for the edit.

I'm going to add a large window in the front part to indicate where the bridge is. I'm also going to add some writing and perhaps a logo if I come up with a nice design. Thanks for the help.

Oliwerko

Yeah, it is hard to say what is "more like space craft", you're right. I actually referred to HW as well in my mind  :)
Yay for Homeworld ship design, I love it.

Maybe it seemed weird to me because I did not see any other ships beside this one, so I had nothing to compare. It depends on the environment.

EDIT: no babar, those are not jpeg artifacts ._.

EDIT 2: also I should mention that the ship is going to be landed on a planet with atmosphere, hence the rather low contrast.

Traveler

Nice ship, but you might want to use darker shadows, like in MashPotato's edit. In space there is no air so there is no ambient lighting. A surface not directly lit receives very low light.

Thanks Traveler but

Excellent work! Is it handdrawn? I mean, I've never seen isometric step-by-step building like on this image you provided. Is that some kind of specific software you used?

But as far as look goes, I still prefer MashPotato's edit.

space boy

Thanks InCreator. Yeah, I made all the cubes myself and then used them to build the rough model of the ship to get all the proportions right. I used gimp for that.

As far as the contrast issue: Like I said the ship is going to be seen on a planet most of the time so it's more appropriate to make it less contrasty. However in the first issue of my webcomic(which I made the ship for) it's flying through space, and I used a version with more contrats for that, as you guys suggested. The reason I concentrated on the brighter version here is because it's the basic picture seen more often than the "in space" version, so I wanted to get that right in the first place.
