Now... that's all I'm going to be showing for now; obviously I've got to get the programming done first; you know that's the most important thing. But is this simpler shading suitable? It's somewhat easier for me.

Well, that's a cool animation!
That's really purdy. Highly impressive. I think the shading is fine, although if it were me I might try an alpha transparency overlay of dark shading to go over the sprite, one that kind of "lines up" with the background shadows. Just to break it up and darken it some.
